Briefly describe the basic principles of villagers' autonomy

Legal analysis: The first principle of villagers' autonomy is direct democracy. Direct democracy originated from Athens city-state democracy and has two basic characteristics: internal virtue and external democratic participation ability. Direct democracy understands democracy as a way of life and daily system for citizens to participate in decision-making. The second principle is social autonomy. Villagers' autonomy is a kind of grass-roots social autonomy, not local autonomy within the state system. The third basic principle of villagers' autonomy is participatory democracy.

Legal basis: Article 5 of the Organic Law of Villagers' Committees of the People's Republic of China. The people's governments of townships, nationality townships and towns shall give guidance, support and help to the work of villagers' committees, but shall not interfere in matters that are within the scope of villagers' autonomy according to law. Villagers' committees assist the people's governments of townships, nationality townships and towns in their work.
