Brief introduction of Lieshan District

Lieshan District belongs to Huaibei City, Anhui Province. As of 2007, Lieshan District has a total area of 388 square kilometers and a total population of 370,000. Jurisdiction over four streets and three towns: Linhaitong Street, Quande Street, Renlou Street, Yangzhuang Street, Lieshan Town, Songtuan Town and Gurao Town. Lieshan area is rich in mineral resources, including coal, kaolin, limestone, aluminum, iron and copper. The development started earlier, and the first mine in Huaibei coalfield was built in Lieshan. Places of interest include Zhuxian County Site in the Western Han Dynasty, Zhuyang County Site in the Early Tang Dynasty, Peiligang Cultural Site in the Early Neolithic Age, Longjishan Natural Scenic Area, Nanhu Park "National Urban Wetland Park" and Huajia Lake. It was rated as "China Agricultural Reclamation Demonstration Zone", "National Top 100 Counties for Fruit Forest Construction", "National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Zone", "Ping 'an County (District) of Anhui Province" and "Nanhu National Urban Wetland Park".
