What are the Miao festivals?
Camus Dragon Boat Festival
Every year in the fifth month of the lunar calendar, the Han people have the custom of dragon boat race on the Dragon Boat Festival. Miao people living in Kaili, Guizhou also have the custom of celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival in the fifth month of the lunar calendar. The Miao people's Dragon Boat Festival usually lasts for four days from May 24th to 27th of the lunar calendar.
About the origin of Camus Dragon Boat Festival, there are two legends circulating in southeastern Guizhou.
There is a legend that the Dragon King, who represents the rain in the sky, once took a wrong step in the rain, and the time of the rain went against God's will. God was so angry that Lei Gong cut the Dragon King into pieces and threw it into the river. From then on, in the event of drought, the Miao people built dragon boats and rowed along the Qingshui River, symbolizing the resurrection of the Dragon King hacked to death by Lei Gong and raining on the earth as usual. This is an ancient custom of dragon boat racing for rain.
Another legend says that two men, father and son, were fishing in the river, and the son was caught by the dragon king as a pillow. In a rage, my father set fire to the Dragon Palace, cut the dragon into several pieces and floated in the river. Let's check the dragon meat and share it. But after eating meat, it was completely dark in kuya for nine days, regardless of day and night. One day, a woman took her children to the river to wash clothes. The child beat the river with a wooden stick and kept imitating the sound of drums. It will be dawn soon. In the future, the Miao people near this river will celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival and play drums for dragon boat races.
Miao dragon boat is made of Chinese fir and consists of three parts: denominator boat and two side boats. There are six cabins in the center of the mother ship. The fourth cabin is filled with pigs, sheep, geese and sailors' food presented by relatives and friends during the Dragon Boat Festival. The side boats are places for sailors to paddle. The Miao people row the dragon boat standing, which is different from the Han people sitting and rowing.
The faucets are exquisitely carved. On the horns like horns, auspicious words such as "good weather" and "peaceful country and people's safety" are usually written. Usually, the dragon boat is placed in the "dragon boat boron" specially used to put the hull. Some "Dragon Boat Sheds" are also covered with couplets, such as: "Dragon Boat is an eternal thing, loyalty and filial piety are prosperous for a thousand years, brocade is all over the world, mountains and rivers are eternal, and the sequence is prosperous for a hundred years" and so on. Most of the horizontal approvals are "people's reunion" and "Wanbao comes to the DPRK". Before the Dragon Boat Festival, the villagers held a grand ceremony to worship the dragon boat, and then they carried it down and put it into Qingshui River for practice and competition.
The Miao people who take part in the dragon boat race have as many as thirty or forty sailors per boat, and the leading figure is the "Dragon Bow", which means the drummer on board. The sailors of the whole ship listened to the drummer's command and paddled according to the rhythm of the drums. A little boy dressed as a woman, wearing Miao silver ornaments and knocking on the gong. At the helm will be the person who knows the most about water, the ferryman, and a strong man with good strength will stand at the bow and pole. There is also a special person who is responsible for putting soil cannons on the boat at the beginning of the game, when leaving the village and when returning to the village. There are even "literate people" who can write and calculate, and write down all the gifts from three relatives and six relatives on board. During the festival, sailors enjoy three meals a day of wine and meat, all donated by villagers and relatives and friends in villages along the Yangtze River. After the Dragon Boat Festival, you need to enjoy a goose or a duck. The selection of sailors is very strict, and no woman with children at home can be a sailor.
At the end of the Dragon Boat Festival, each village should choose the fattest pig in the village and invite the whole village to have dinner after slaughter to thank the whole village for their support of the Dragon Boat Festival.
The Camus Dragon Boat Festival is from May 24th to 27th in the lunar calendar, and as early as May18th and19th, the dragon boat will be washed. On the 22nd and 23rd, the mother ship was tied to the ship and the faucet was installed. On the 24th, a grand opening ceremony was held, and a square table was placed beside a well or ditch with a dragon god. The legs of the table should be tied with branches without leaves and bark, an umbrella, red cloth, paper money and a handful of grass. Provide a liter of rice on the table and take down a white rooster to sweep away evil spirits and worship God. In the past, on the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival, wizards were asked to recite scriptures. Now, the witchcraft etiquette here is mostly simple. However, the rules of witchcraft are endless. For example, the dragon boat must not stop or rest in the process of crossing, and must row to the end in one breath. After the dragon boat turned around, the helmsman gave each sailor a bunch of exorcism grass and threw it into the river together.
During the Dragon Boat Festival, there were a sea of people on both sides of Qingshui River. Besides boat racing, there are folk activities such as drumming and blowing sheng. This period is also a festival for young men and women to sing and love each other.
The origin of Miao people stepping on Huashan Mountain
Every year on the third, fourth and fifth day of the first lunar month, it is a grand festival for Miao people-hiking in Huashan Mountain.
During these three days, Miao people, old and young, all dressed in gold and silver, rushed to the foot of Huagan Mountain from all directions to play lusheng, bamboo sticks, tripods, broadswords, bullfights and thrushes. ...
In particular, the upside-down climbing pole is even more eye-catching: a mido wears a ribbon around his waist, a hair band and a applique pole on his back, reaches out two hands, lifts the flower pole over his head, pulls the flower pole back, gently lifts his feet up, then jumps from head to foot, climbs to the top of the flower pole, and one climbs to the other. Suddenly, cheers were everywhere.
This is the unique stepping flower mountain of Miao family.
How did this program come about?
Legend has it that in ancient times, the Miao family lived on the plain. The land in that place is as wide as the sky and as flat as a playground. Every year, the weather is good, and every family has food and clothing.
At that time, there was a king of Miao family named Meng Ziyou, who was very nice and had nine sons and eight daughters. Every night, he leads his son and daughter to play lusheng, play cowhide drums, sing and dance.
One night, the sound of cowhide drums reached the palace, which shook the palace and alarmed the civil and military officials of the Qing Dynasty. So the emperor sent people to inspect everywhere.
One day, the emperor knew that the Miao family had a large fertile land, and every family had money and food, and their eyes were red and their hearts were full of evil thoughts, so he sent troops to play in Mengzi. Wherever the imperial soldiers went, they plundered and did evil, disturbing the Miao family. Now, Meng Ziyou was angered, and he led the Miao family to resist the imperial soldiers together. However, due to poor weapons, Mencius was repeatedly defeated and fought, and was driven to the deep mountains and forests.
This deep mountain and old forest, one peak is bigger than the other, one peak is higher than the other, and it is continuous. The Miao family fled here and shouted, but they couldn't find it. Mencius cut down a tall and straight fir tree, trimmed and peeled it, dyed it red and white, untied the red cloth belt around his waist, tied it to one end of the flower pole, and stood on the highest peak to summon the children of the Miao family. As soon as the Miao people saw it, they gathered in succession. Meng Ziyou camped under the flower pole, leaving nine sons and eight daughters in charge of some Miao people and stationed them on various hills. While hunting, they cultivated land and woven cloth, and at the same time built houses and made weapons. In a few years, the Miao family became rich again. So, the Miao family played cowhide drums, played lusheng and sang and danced.
Cowhide drums spread to the palace, and the emperor sent soldiers to attack Mengzi right along the drums. When Mencius heard the news, he called his son and the girl together and asked, "The imperial soldiers are here again. Have you made enough weapons? " They all said in unison, "It's done."
Mencius asked again, "Are all the checkpoints heavily guarded?" Everyone except his son Nong Shuaimi replied, "Be strict." Seeing that the farmer was silent, Mencius asked angrily, "What about you?" Nong Shuai Mi smiled and replied: "I didn't block the checkpoint." Hearing this, Mencius was furious and roared, "If you don't block the checkpoint, are you going to send imperial soldiers into the mountains to kill your brothers and sisters and cut off my head?" Nong Shuai Mi still smiled and replied: "Dad, I want to open the door and lead the imperial soldiers to the foot of the flower pole and close the door to fight." The imperial army has good weapons and many people. If you don't do this, you can't beat them. Hearing this, Meng Ziyou's anger subsided slightly and asked, "How are you going to teach Buddhism? The farmer looked at his eight sisters and replied, "A few years ago, we fought against imperial soldiers and they won back. This time, one of them will be careless. We can choose some girls to dress up, and at the same time, we can choose some boys and girls with high martial arts to dance under the flower pole, lure the imperial soldiers to Huashan and ambush around. When the imperial soldiers get halfway up the mountain, we will hang the flag as a signal, and the surrounding military forces will kill the flowers. "Nong Shuai Mi replied:" The key to this battle is to hang the flag bearer, and we must hang the flag at the right time and quickly, and we must have courage, strength and flexibility ... "Mencius listened and turned from joy to worry. Before Nong Shuai-mi finished, he was anxious to ask, "Then, who will hang the flag?" Eight sons rushed to hear the news.
In front of him, flags were hung hastily. Mencius looked at his sons again and again, but he still couldn't decide who would hang the national flag. Farmer Jimmy said to his eight younger brothers, "whoever wins the pole climbing competition will hang the flag." Mencius repeatedly applauded after listening to the tour: "OK, let's do it!" "
At the beginning of the competition, Miao families rushed to the bottom of the flower pole, and three floors inside and three floors outside surrounded Mencius' nine sons. Jiuzi surrounded the flower pole again. Meng ziyou stood under the flower pole, holding a red flag. In an instant, the whole hill was crowded with people. Mencius looked at his nine sons and asked, "Who will climb first?"
As soon as the voice fell, the youngest son, Zhisuoduo, got under the flower pole, hugged it, got up like a squirrel and rustled down again. When they saw it, they cheered in succession. In applause, Zhi Duoxing said to his father, "What happened? Give me the red flag! "
Before Mencius could speak, his second son, Nong Paigong, said loudly, "Look at me slowly." He grabbed the pole with both hands and pedaled it with his legs, not sticking to it. He brushed it up and down, and everyone saw it, and the applause was like thunder. Farmer Paigong smiled and said to his father, "Dad, give me the red flag!" " "
Nong Shuaimi jumped forward, grabbed the red flag, grabbed the red flag, grabbed the pole, climbed to the top of the pole in the blink of an eye with only two hands, and then slipped down, up and down, back and forth several times, each time faster than the other. Everyone was dumbfounded, and it took a while to cheer in unison. Several younger brothers saw it and said in unison, "Dad, my brother's martial arts are higher than ours, so let him hang the flag!" " "In this way, the election is over.
Then, according to Nong Shuai-mi's suggestion, some beautiful girls who can sing and dance and some lean boys were selected to stay under the flower pole to lure imperial soldiers, and the rest were all ambushed at the foot of the mountain.
People on the mountain are blowing and beating, and it's very lively. Around the foot of the mountain, Miao people prepared weapons and waited for the arrival of imperial soldiers.
After a while, the imperial soldiers swaggered into the encirclement. When Nong Shuai Mi stood under the flower pole and saw the imperial soldiers not far from him, he told everyone to stop singing and dancing and go down the mountain. He immediately turned around and tried to climb the pole.
Knowing the farmer's intention, the court soldiers resisted the swarming Miao soldiers and shot arrows at the farmer. In order to avoid the bow and arrow, Nong Shuaimi circled around the pole and shot an arrow in the air. Halfway up the mountain, several arrows hit Nong Shuai-mi in the back. He let out a cry and the red flag in his mouth fell to the ground. He immediately slipped down the pole, picked up the flag and took a bite, then went around the top of the pole. Hardly had he climbed to the top of the pole when several arrows hit him in the head. He let out a cry and the red flag fell again. At this time, the imperial soldiers roared and shouted, and they were almost under the flower pole. When the farmer saw this, he pulled out his broadsword and tried his best to kill the imperial army. Finally, the imperial soldiers were temporarily beaten back. Taking this opportunity, Nong Shuaimi thought for a moment, picked up the red flag, pinned it on his waist, rushed under the flower pole, grabbed the pole with both hands, lifted his feet up, lowered his head and put his feet up, jumped and climbed to the top of the pole. When the imperial soldiers saw it, they shot arrows again, one by one, and inserted them on the flower pole, on the leg and back of the farmer's microphone. Blood dripped down the pole. He groaned and cursed, tried his best to climb to the top of the pole and hung the red flag.
When the Miao soldiers lying in ambush around saw it, they rushed out one after another, desperately slashing the imperial army. Meng Ziyou rushed to the front, killed the imperial army, and fled in a hurry. Nong Shuai Mi smiled happily after seeing it, but also closed his eyes because of the serious injury. In this battle, Mencius won, but his nine sons and eight daughters died in the battle. Meng Ziyou and Miao family carried them to the foot of pedicel and cried. It was not until the third, fourth and fifth day of the first month of the following year that they cooked wine to kill cattle and buried them at the foot of pedicels. From then on, the Miao family held a memorial ceremony on the 16th day of the lunar calendar and the 3rd, 4th and 5th day of the first month of the following year. At the same time, they practiced hanging upside down to climb the pole, dancing broadsword, pole and wooden stick, and encouraged the Miao family to resist oppression.
Miao people's grand meeting-eating dirty meat.
Kaili is the seat of the government of Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province, where 28 ethnic groups, including Miao, Dong, Han, Shui, Buyi, Gelao and Tujia, live. The famous Luxiang in the west of Kaili City is a holy place for Miao people to celebrate traditional national festivals. "Eating dirty" is the oldest and grandest Miao festival here.
Eating dirty roe deer, also known as eating hidden roe deer, stabbing cattle, drum festival, drum festival and drum festival, is the most solemn ancestor worship ceremony of Miao people in Guizhou. The ancient belief of Miao nationality holds that drums made of cowhide are the place where ancestors and the dead live, and are the ties and symbols of a blood family. This consanguineous family was called "He Huan" or "wide door" in history, and there was a "money agreement" inside to maintain the social order of the family and deal with the invasion of the enemy. Eating dirty meat is a long-standing ancestor worship ceremony handed down from the ancestor worship of the ancient Miao nationality.
The origin of "eating dirty" of Miao nationality is recorded in "Ancient Songs of Miao Nationality". This ancient song contains the creation song of our nation. The lyrics tell that maple is the tree of life for all things. After this tree of life was cut down by the goddess Niu Xiang in ancient times, its roots became loach, its trunk became bronze drum, its branches became owls, its leaves became swallows, its treetops became magpies and pigeons, and butterflies were born in its heart. The butterfly lays 12 eggs and becomes the mother of 12 eggs. Mother butterfly hatches her own eggs, and after three years, she hatches 1 1 kinds of diseases, including gods, ghosts, dragons, snakes, butchers, jackals, eternal nights (the earliest men) and Ni nights (the earliest women). One of the eggs is still the same after three years. It is still an egg and has never hatched. Mother butterfly had to turn to the storm for help. The storm blew away the last egg on the rock, broke the eggshell and drilled a calf. After the calf was born, it resented the mother butterfly for not hatching it herself. When it grows up, it hates its mother and makes her angry. Yennier cultivated in Niu Gengdi, but never had a good harvest. Ghosts and gods told Yongye and Niye: Because Daniel denied his mother, Mother Butterfly was very angry. Mother Butterfly didn't call Niu Gengdi's garden, nor did she grow good crops. Only when the bull is sacrificed to the mother butterfly can the crops be harvested. Persist, persist, persist, kill the cow and worship the butterfly mother, and immediately usher in a bumper harvest. This is a legend about the origin of "eating dead soil" by killing cattle to worship ancestors.
The ancient festival of "eating dirty roe deer" includes a series of religious ceremonies that are inseparable from cows, such as bullfighting, slaughtering cows to worship ancestors, playing drums with cowhide, and sacrificing drums.
The sacred cowhide drum used for ancestor worship is to hollow out a whole section of nanmu, and then cover the two ends of nanmu with cowhide, which becomes the sacred drum used for ancestor worship. This mysterious drum is divided into two types: double drum and single drum in Miao township. The double drum consists of two drums of the same size. Drum length170cm, diameter 30cm. It is handed down by ancestors and usually placed in a long-term married family without children. It is said that offering double drums can make no children, no daughters and no sons, and children and grandchildren will multiply endlessly, so children-seekers compete to collect their own double drums. A single drum is a single drum, slightly shorter than a double drum. Now it is made and used at the time of sacrifice. After the drum sacrifice, it was sent to the cave in the mountain, and it was no longer used and allowed to rot.
Festivals for eating dirty meat can be divided into two types: regular holidays and irregular holidays. After a certain period of time, it is not completely unified in all branches of Miao nationality. Held every 3 years, 7 years, 13 years; Held every five or nine years; Held once every 1 1 year. Irregular festivals need to be decided by divination and divination. The ceremony of "eating withered and dirty" is very complicated, which often involves a series of grand ceremonies, such as dividing two drums, going to the place where the single drum was originally hidden on the mountain to worship the rotten old drum (called "turning the drum"), making new single drums, bullfighting, slaughtering cattle, delivering meals and so on.
Bullfighting is one of the most touching ceremonies. The bull is chosen to fight with the bull, which is called the bull crown. Before each expedition, Niu Wang was dressed in red, accompanied by loud gongs and drums and loud lusheng, escorted by a banner, and everyone crowded into the bullring. Bulls used in bullfighting are not allowed to kill, and bulls killed in fighting are regarded as heroes, not allowed to eat their meat, and have to be buried with a thick burial. It is also necessary to erect a monument on the cow tomb to remember the merits of bullfighting.
During bullfighting, local Miao people regard passers-by and foreign tourists as the most distinguished guests of Miao family and invite them to watch the bullfighting together. The scene of bullfighting is warm and wild.
Cattle sacrificed to their ancestors should be fat and strong, and they should also wear colorful clothes. Among these sacrificial cows, those with silver collars and green shoes on their horns are specially used to sacrifice female ancestors; And those headdresses and blue cloth shoes hanging on the floor are for offering sacrifices to male ancestors. When the cold night came, an ox chopping frame was built with three logs on Luxiang Mountain, forming a mysterious altar. Miao Qiangren shouted and tied all the sacrificial cows to a stake, and then hacked them to death with a sharp axe. This mysterious ritual of cutting cattle to worship ancestors must be completed before sunrise, and foreigners should be allowed to participate. At dawn, the incense burner hill was filled with neatly arranged ox heads, and the indigenous wizard, who was revered as "Po Mo" by the Miao family, turned over to offer sacrifices to the cows and piously sang deep ancient sacrificial songs. A series of sacrificial ceremonies ended after providing food and offerings to ancestors, and the suppressed solemn atmosphere was swept away.
Carnival has begun. The whole censer mountain is boiling. Girls and boys, male sheng and female dance, sing sheng into the clouds, and the double drums make a deep sound. Even quaint old people dance with long cigarette sticks, singing and dancing wildly on the incense burner mountain, regardless of gender, age and age. The Miao people also call it "stepping on the cow hall" or "stepping on the drum".
Spectacular bullfighting scenes and solemn ceremonies for sacrificing cows and ancestors have different folk connotations. "Eating dirty meat" accompanied by bullfighting shows the psychology of pleasing ancestors and entertaining themselves, as well as the confidence of controlling animals, which is directly related to people's economic life of animal husbandry and farming. And "eating dirty cows" to worship ancestors and pray for dialogue between the living on earth and the ancestors of the underworld. As a victim, offering sacrifices to cattle is a medium to connect human beings and gods. This ceremony is a trembling prayer, and there is no atmosphere of self-entertainment. Bullfighting is more extensive than slaughtering cows to worship ancestors, and it appears in many other ethnic festivals except eating dirty cows to worship ancestors.
The Origin of Miao Disaster Relief Festival
Every year on the 13th day of the seventh lunar month, Miao families in shibin, Ping Huang will celebrate the "Evil Elimination Festival" as usual. Why do you celebrate this festival?
Legend has it that a long time ago, there was a demon king. He was very tall and scary in strength. The most hateful thing is that he eats other people's cattle and horses, which leads to people's fields without Niu Geng and goods without horses. Everyone is cursing: "If only someone had killed this demon."
Just as people were expecting, there was a little girl named Arnie. She said, "I can drive away the devil."
When people heard this, they were all surprised: "You are so young, how can you kill the devil?"
Arnie said, "If you find ten baskets of broken iron, please go to the smartest blacksmith, and I will have a way to get rid of the devil."
People were so happy that they found these things at once. Arnie immediately asked the blacksmith to cast the broken pot into three kinds of iron balls, one as big as a basket, one as big as a water tank and one as big as a tripod.
Arnie also asked everyone to knit a pair of sandals the size of a ferry and put them on a big iron ball. Finally, she pulled a cow to graze beside the sandals.
One day, the devil saw the cow, and he was very unhappy. He immediately ran over and tried to eat the cow. Who knows, when I took a closer look, I found three iron balls lying neatly on the ground. I saw a little girl sitting on the ground and asked loudly, "Whose iron ball is this?"
Arnie replied, "It's my father's."
"What's your father doing playing iron ball?"
"Call!"
"Can your father play with these things?"
Arnie pointed to the sandals and said, "What do you think this is? Do you think my father is strong? Can he play with these iron balls? "
The devil asked again, "How does your father play with these iron balls?"
Arnie said, "My father plays these iron balls as easily as that egg and duck egg. He threw the small iron ball into the sky, fell and held it up with his thumb; He threw the iron ball into the sky and held it with his knees; He threw the big iron ball into the sky and held it with his skull. Can you do it? "
The devil said unconvinced, "what's so great about your father?" Look at me. " Then, as Arnie said, throw the small iron ball into the sky and butt it with your thumb. Unfortunately, he didn't resist, but was smashed out of blood. Arnie smiled and said, "Haha, you didn't catch it."
Not convinced, the devil threw the iron ball into the sky again, butted it with his knee, but did not resist, and a bone fell from his knee. Arnie smiled and said, "Haha, you hurt your knee."
At this time, the devil was so angry that he couldn't speak. He grabbed the biggest iron ball and threw it. It only fell as high as a tree. He hurried to the top with his skull, but, bang, his skull blossomed.
When people saw that the demon was dead, they all ran out to surround Ani and praised her as a brave girl. This day is the thirteenth day of the seventh lunar month. In order to commemorate the little girl's cleverness and bravery, this day was designated as "Evil Elimination Festival".
Miao mountaineering festival
Every spring and March, young Miao men and women happily celebrate the annual Mountain Climbing Festival.
"Mountain Climbing Festival" is a festival for young Miao men and women to "travel", that is, a festival of love. Through mountaineering activities, we can achieve the goal of marriage autonomy and lifelong companionship. In Leishan County, in the afternoon of March of the lunar calendar, Sanjiaotian (Five Forks), Niujiaopo of Huangli Commune, Mantianxing of Wujiang Commune and Dagou Commune were held. The Wangfeng Triangle Field is the biggest scene, with more than 10,000 people each time, because young men and women from neighboring counties such as Danzhai, Kaili, Majiang and Taijiang also came to participate. In recent years, in addition to young men and women's love and singing, mountaineering activities have also increased cockfighting, horse racing, basketball games, tug-of-war and other national sports activities.
There is also a legend about the origin of mountaineering festival.
Behind Dalongao stockade of Huangli Commune at the foot of Leigong Mountain, there is a Niujiaopo. How did Niujiaopo get its name?
Legend has it that in ancient times, there lived a poor family in Baogan House (the former site of Dalong 'ao), with only mother and son. My mother is old and weak, and my son is Wang Jian, who is in his teens. He is strong, hardworking, simple and omnipotent. Seeing Wang Jian grow up day by day, the old mother really wants to find a daughter-in-law for him. But there is nothing at home, and it is as poor as a church mouse. The central matchmaker asked many families, but they were too eager to be poor, and no one agreed. There is a rich man in the village whose daughter is called "belle". She is very beautiful and famous in this area. Many people came to propose to her, but they were all rejected, but the girl had a crush on the young Wang Jian. Sometimes when two people meet on the side of the road, they have to say a few words from the heart, and when they have the opportunity, they will sing some love songs that the Prime Minister loves. With the growth of age, love sprouts in each other's hearts. The belle secretly vowed that unless she didn't marry, she would like to pair up with Wang Jian and spend the rest of her life together. The love between the two young people spread like wildfire in the village and reached Mei Fu's ears. The old man was so angry that his beard stood on end. He locked the belle in the wing and refused to let her see Wang Jian.
Winter goes and spring comes. It's time for spring ploughing. Wang Jian works hard as usual and plows the fields every day. Meifu was kept alone in the wing. At the sight of Wang Jian, his heart almost jumped out. However, she knows in her heart that her parents are very strict and will not even ask her to go. Pairing with Wang Jian is simply more difficult than the sky! One day, Wang Jian came to the belle's house as a helper, just plowing the field. Maeve thinks this is a good opportunity to talk to his sweetheart. It happened that a scalper died in her house. She came up with a good idea. She killed the cow in the dark, put the cowhide on herself, put on a horn and pretended to be a big cow. At dawn, Wang Jian drove the cattle out to work. When I got to the field, I prepared a plow. When the cows didn't listen to me, I started running. It's strange to look at it and chase it closely. Chasing, chasing, came to a hillside, and the cow stopped. Wang Jian took a closer look. Oh, where are the cows? Actually, it's my sweetheart Meifu. When two people meet, they are really inseparable. Wang Jian had mixed feelings and was extremely excited. They walked hand in hand on the hillside, singing a heartfelt love song, from morning to sunset, from night to dawn. Melodious songs reached the stockade, and everyone was moved by the lovers' songs. Gradually, young men and women outside the village gathered around the hillside. On that day, there were crowds all over the mountain, each looking for a sweetheart to sing a song.
Meifu's parents were very angry when they learned about it. He rushed to the hillside with a pole and a bunch of servants, and killed Meifu and Wang Jian alive. This day is the second day of the third lunar month.
The unfortunate couple died, leaving a pair of horns on the hillside. The mountain grows high year after year and becomes a trumpet-shaped hill, hence the name "Niujiaopo". When spring comes every year, the grass on Niujiaopo is greener than other places, and azaleas bloom earlier than other places. People will naturally think of the legendary couple when they see this place. Every year in late spring and March, when the Yingfei grass grows, young men and women will be dressed in costumes, holding umbrellas and folding fans, and gather from all over the country to "travel" in Niujiaopo. It expresses the memory of loyal couples, and it is also a big gathering of marital independence.
