Characteristics of local natural environment of Bai Zang residential buildings

White Tibetan houses belong to civil structures.

White Tibetan houses belong to civil structures, which have strong local characteristics compared with other areas in Kangzang. The walls of Tibetan houses in rural areas are rammed with ordinary soil with suitable humidity, and the service life can generally be as long as hundreds of years. The outside of the wall slopes inward and the inside is vertical. The whole house is an indoor wooden column structure. The more columns, the bigger the house. The whole building is trapezoidal with smooth walls. Every year, about a month before the wedding, the local white clay named "Sakya" is diluted and poured on the whole wall, which not only makes the wall beautiful and rainproof, but also means praying for good luck and happiness. According to legend, every time white mud is used to pour the wall, there are 1000 butter lamps and 1000 small merits of peace.
