What is the employment situation of logistics major now and in the past 2 or 3 years?
Analysis:
The prospect of logistics is very good.
Second, there is a serious shortage of logistics talents in China, including logistics operation talents.
According to rough statistics, the total number of logistics employees in various enterprises in China is 10 million, and with the economic growth and the growth of the total social logistics, the number of logistics employees will continue to rise. Take Shanghai as an example. Although the number of logistics and related employees has reached 800,000, if the current proportion of logistics and related employees in Hong Kong to the total population is 13%, the number of logistics and related employees in Shanghai will reach at least 1.8 million around 20 10.
Although the number of logistics employees in China is large, the quality of logistics employees is generally low. Shanghai and Beijing are relatively developed areas of logistics industry in China. Only 2 1% and 19% of logistics employees in third-party logistics enterprises have college education or above, and the proportion in other parts of China is even lower. The educational background of logistics major is even less. The shortage of logistics management talents in several big cities in the next few years are: Shanghai 300,000, Beijing 200,000, Shenzhen 1.2 million, and Dalian 80,000.
A 20-year-long survey of American logistics careers by the University of Orleans shows that among the logistics managers surveyed, 92% have a bachelor's degree, 465,438+0% have a master's degree and 22% have a qualification certificate. Among them, the undergraduate major structure is: logistics major accounts for 12%, business major accounts for 52%, engineering major accounts for 23%, and other majors account for 13%. The major structure of graduate students is: logistics major 13%, business major 73%, engineering major 12%, and other majors 2%. It can be seen that the situation of domestic logistics talents is far from that of developed countries.
Logistics is a cross-industry and inter-departmental compound industry, and it is also a combination of labor-intensive and technology-intensive industries. In every functional link of logistics, such as transportation, warehousing, packaging, distribution and processing, handling and information processing, a large number of people are needed to operate. Among the logistics employees, 75% ~ 85% are engaged in operating positions. However, due to traffic restrictions, customer demand, service quality requirements and other reasons, logistics operations often require 24-hour uninterrupted operation, which makes the demand of logistics operators multiply. And with the wide application of information technology, automatic warehousing technology, packaging technology, loading and unloading technology and corresponding equipment in logistics activities, as well as the requirements of market logistics service quality, the quality requirements for logistics operators are also rapidly improving. Therefore, the development of logistics industry needs a large number of logistics operators with certain educational level and skills.
However, there is a serious shortage of logistics operators in China. On the one hand, China's logistics market is huge, the investment in logistics fixed assets is accelerating, and the demand for logistics operators is huge. In 2004, the total cost of social logistics in China was 2911400 million yuan, an increase of 16.6% year-on-year, which means that China currently has a total logistics market of nearly 300 billion yuan, and it is still growing rapidly. In the same period, the investment in fixed assets in domestic logistics-related industries was 728.3 billion yuan, up 24.3% year-on-year, with an increase of 13 percentage points over the previous year. The steady growth of logistics demand of foreign-funded enterprises, domestic emerging enterprises and traditional enterprises that are gradually transforming has created a huge domestic logistics market, attracted foreign logistics enterprises to enter China on a large scale, and at the same time, domestic logistics enterprises have also expanded rapidly. The huge logistics market, the rapid increase of investment in logistics fixed assets and the rapid expansion of logistics enterprises have produced huge human demand. Especially with the improvement of logistics demand level, the demand for logistics operation talents is getting higher and higher, and the demand is huge. On the other hand, the current situation of domestic logistics operation talents is not optimistic. At present, the employees of logistics operation positions in domestic enterprises mainly come from two aspects: first, they are transferred from the handling and loading and unloading positions of traditional warehousing and transportation enterprises; The second is to directly recruit migrant workers. At present, in a large number of domestic logistics enterprises, a large number of migrant workers are used by employees in operating positions. These personnel rarely receive systematic logistics operation training, most of them do not have logistics-related knowledge, and know little about operation principles, the connection of various business links, operation processes, industry standards, service specifications, and the application of modern information technology. At present, the logistics employees in Shenzhen are basically the most basic operators responsible for warehousing and goods circulation, and less than 0.8% of these logistics employees have received systematic vocational education. A survey in Tianjin shows that there are more than 20,000 logistics enterprises and related enterprises in the city, and the proportion of employees with certain operational skills is generally below 20%. FedEx, UPS, DHL and TNT, four well-known multinational logistics companies, have developed rapidly in China in recent years. Because it is difficult to recruit operators who meet the actual needs, everyone has strengthened the training of new employees. TNT Group has set up the first professional logistics talent training base in China.
At present, the educational situation of logistics talents in China is difficult to meet the social demand for operational talents.
At present, domestic logistics education generally attaches importance to the cultivation of middle and senior management talents, but ignores the cultivation of logistics operation talents. Since 200 1, there have been 130 undergraduate colleges and universities in China offering logistics majors, but most of them are logistics management and logistics engineering majors aimed at cultivating middle and senior talents. Among secondary vocational colleges, 2 15 vocational colleges offer logistics majors, 1 independent vocational colleges and 180 vocational schools offer logistics majors. Nevertheless, compared with nearly10 million logistics operators, the scale of training operational talents is still very small.
Moreover, due to the influence of the planned economic system in the past, these vocational colleges are subordinate to the competent departments of commerce, materials, railways, posts and telecommunications, transportation, supply and marketing, etc. Multi-sector education, scattered educational resources, uneven geographical distribution of colleges and universities, lack of professional teachers, great differences in teachers' level, inconsistent teaching materials, different training directions, backward logistics teaching methods, and lack of practical training for students have affected the training of logistics operation talents to some extent.
China's logistics industry is in a good development period.
National and local governments at all levels attach great importance to the development of modern logistics industry. In the Ninth Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the 20 10 long-term plan, China clearly put forward the strategic goal of further accelerating the development of logistics, strengthening the research on logistics theory and technology, improving the level of logistics management and changing the backward situation of logistics as soon as possible to meet the needs of sustained and rapid economic development. In March of 20001year, six ministries and commissions, including the State Economic and Trade Commission, jointly issued the Notice on Several Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Modern Logistics in China. In August 2004, the National Development and Reform Commission and other nine ministries and commissions jointly issued the Opinions on Promoting the Development of China's Modern Logistics Industry. At the same time, it shows that the state supports the development of logistics industry, and at the same time, it has issued relevant industrial policies that are conducive to the development of logistics industry. Many places * * * regard logistics as a pillar industry of economic development or a new economic growth point, and also set up a leading group for modern logistics development and formulated an outline or plan for logistics development. At present, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shandong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin and other provinces, cities and prefecture-level places have formulated more than 50 plans, and some have already begun to implement them. At the same time, industrial and commercial enterprises began to actively introduce modern logistics concepts, integrate enterprise logistics resources and transform internal logistics processes. For example, starting from 1999, Qingdao Haier Group unified the functions of procurement, warehousing and distribution, established Haier Logistics Promotion Headquarters, and implemented integrated supply chain management. The total domestic logistics also grew rapidly, reaching 38.4 trillion yuan in 2004, up 29.9% year-on-year. Good logistics development environment and high-speed growth of logistics industry will definitely generate greater demand for logistics talents.
