What exactly is theology?

The word "theology" was first adopted by the pagans, but was later borrowed by believers for the study of God, i.e., "the divinity of Christ".

Theology is a broad term for all studies or doctrines on the subject of God. After the triumph of Christianity in Rome, theology was mostly used in Europe to refer to Christian theology, but in addition to Christian theology, there were also Islamic theology, Jewish theology, and other theological systems. Some scientific theorists and representatives of humanism rejected theology because it was limited by the confessional tradition and argued that there should be no theology departments in public universities.
