A brief analysis of the reasons leading to the backwardness of modern navy

China's long-term lag behind the world's advanced level in maritime combat effectiveness is caused by several reasons:

First: contempt for sea power theory. China has always been a land power, emphasizing land over sea. Because of its vast territory, rich resources and long-term social satisfaction with self-sufficient small-scale peasant economy, China has basically no concept of ocean for a long time.

Second: technology and equipment. Since the founding of the People's Navy, it has been making unremitting efforts to build a powerful navy. However, due to the deterioration of the surrounding situation and the weak domestic industrial science and technology foundation, the People's Navy has been unable to concentrate on developing its own naval forces. As we all know, to build a powerful navy, we must not only have advanced sea power theory, but also develop scientific strength. Due to the wrong closed-door policy of the Qing government, China's science and technology, once at the forefront of the world, gradually fell behind the world. With the development of foreign powers' scientific and technological level, China is busy fighting warlords to resist aggression, and even People's Republic of China (PRC)'s navy has been reduced to such a state. It has to be said that it is the sorrow of China's scientific community, because we don't have a perfect design system for ships, electronics and power, which leads our navy to lag far behind the world.
