How are different national elements applied in modern clothing industry? Can you elaborate on it?

(A) Style elements

China is a multi-ethnic country, and the prototypes of ethnic costumes include cheongsam, Manchu costumes and Han costumes. At present, designers mainly use addition and subtraction and conceptual method when applying these style elements. The so-called addition and subtraction is to maintain the prototype of style and add and subtract appropriately; Conceptual method is to fully understand these prototypes, and on this basis, extract typical tracer element and carry out conceptual design, so as to obtain clothing with obvious modern flavor.

(2) Process elements

The production technology of traditional national costumes in China includes printing and dyeing, embroidery and bronzing. When applying these process elements, designers should pay attention to the combination of modern technology and traditional manufacturing technology. Under the background of information development, modern science and technology effectively make up for the disadvantages of low output of traditional manufacturing technology. Take embroidery as an example. Embroidery on modern clothes is accomplished by computer embroidery technology. Designers choose traditional auspicious patterns for embroidery and innovate them, which not only keeps the auspicious meaning of the patterns, but also harmonizes the patterns with modern clothes. For example, Figure 3 shows the autumn and winter series of Kenzo20 18. Through modern printing and computer embroidery technology, the traditional dragon totem of China is presented on the clothing in a symmetrical way, which fully embodies the effective integration of tradition and modernity.

(3) Color elements

China's traditional national color elements have integrated the concepts of nature, ethics and philosophy, forming a unique color culture, including China red, glazed yellow, emerald green, Great Wall gray, blue and white, etc. There are five main ways to use it in modern clothing design: First, apply a color as the main color of clothing in a large area. As shown in the works of Dior designer john galliano, glaze yellow is widely used as the main color; Second, use a color as a clothing ornament in a small range; Third, use a variety of colors to coordinate the dosage ratio of different colors; Fourth, change the brightness and saturation of colors to obtain new colors; Fifthly, any color combination generates a new color group, and the transition from high brightness to low brightness is considered.

(4) Fabric elements

The elements of traditional ethnic fabrics in China are embodied in the material and mechanism of fabrics. Judging from the materials, there are silk, brocade, cotton and linen. From the mechanism, there are hollowing, pleating, weaving, bead string and so on. When designers use traditional ethnic fabric elements, they emphasize the effective combination of fabric and color, technology, style and other elements, so as to enrich the level of clothing itself, and when necessary, they can mix and match different fabrics. Figure 5 shows Louis Vuitton men's wear in spring and summer of 20 16. The clothing itself is silk fabric, and the central embroidery is white sand dancing crane. Designers choose to combine traditional crane patterns with plum blossom patterns, which not only presents a sense of freedom, but also shows the cultural attributes of Louis Vuitton's comfort, nobility and elegance.
