The principle of foot brake
The maneuvering method is to press the pedal to the floor with one foot of the left foot to take effect, and then release the handbrake by pressing the pedal harder with the left foot and then releasing it. Of course, there are other ways, such as Mercedes-Benz cars foot-controlled parking brake requires manual assistance to release: there is a handle on the left side of the steering wheel, with a hand pull, you can release the foot-controlled parking brake.
The type of parking brake refers to the operation of the parking brake, and now the operation of the parking brake on passenger cars can be divided into three types: hand brake, foot brake and electronic parking.
There are two types of automotive braking systems: drum brakes and disc brakes.
Drum brakes are a traditional braking system, its working principle can be very graphic with a coffee cup to describe. Brake drums are like coffee cups, when you put five fingers into the rotating coffee cup, the finger is the brake pads, as long as you will be five fingers outward, rubbing the inside wall of the coffee cup, the coffee cup will stop rotating. Drum brakes on the car is simple to say by the brake oil pump, piston, brake pads and drum chamber, braking by the high pressure brake fluid from the brake sub-pump to push the piston, on the two half-moon brake shoes to exert force, so that it is pressed against the inner wall of the drum chamber, relying on friction to prevent the drum from rotating so as to achieve the braking effect.
Similarly, the working principle of disc brakes can be described as a saucer, which stops spinning when you pinch the spinning saucer with your thumb and forefinger. Disc brakes on a car are made up of a brake fluid pump, a brake disc connected to the wheel and a brake caliper on the disc. When braking, the high pressure brake fluid pushes the piston in the caliper, and presses the brake shoes to the brake disk, thus producing a braking effect.
Disc brakes are sometimes called disc brakes, it is divided into ordinary disc brakes and ventilated disc brakes.
Ventilated disc brakes is a gap between the two discs, so that the airflow in the gap through, some ventilated discs are also drilled in the disc surface of a number of round ventilation holes, or in the disc surface of the ventilation slots cut out or pre-fabricated rectangular ventilation holes. Ventilated disc brakes use wind flow, its cooling and heating effect is better than ordinary disc brakes. The main advantages of disc brakes are rapid braking at high speeds, better heat dissipation than drum brakes, good constancy of braking efficiency, and easy to install advanced electronic equipment such as ABS. The main advantage of drum brakes is less wear on the brake shoes, lower cost, easy to maintain, because the absolute braking force of drum brakes is much higher than disc brakes, so commonly used in rear-wheel drive trucks.
