How did Indian literature influence Southeast Asian literature in the early and middle Middle Ages?

In terms of literature, following the widespread spread of Indian myths and stories in Southeast Asia, Indian Sanskrit literature had the greatest influence on Southeast Asia in the early Middle Ages, including a collection of historical legends, a collection of folk stories, five volumes, and two epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata, two of which had a particularly lasting influence.
