Who designed the new CCTV building
The CCTV headquarters building, located in Beijing's business center district, contains the CCTV headquarters building, the TV cultural center, the service building, and the celebration plaza. It was designed by OMA under the leadership of Dutchman Rem Koolhaas and German Ole Schein. With its avant-garde architectural form, the CCTV Headquarters Building was selected as one of the world's top ten architectural wonders of 2007 by TIME, alongside Beijing's Contemporary Universal City and the National Stadium. The CCTV headquarters building climbed from an initial project budget of $5 billion to nearly $20 billion. And it paid the designer, Metropolis Architects, up to 350 million in design fees, an average of 630 yuan per square meter.
