The so-called painting refers to covering the metal and nonmetal surfaces with protective layers or decorative layers. With the development of industrial technology, it has penetrated into many fields of national economy. The development of painting production line in China has experienced the development process from manual to production line to automatic production line. The painting process in China can be simply summarized as: pretreatment → spraying → drying or curing → three wastes treatment. China's painting industry really originated from the introduction of Soviet technology in 1950s. Since the 1960s, due to the development of light industry, mechanized production lines and automatic production lines have appeared in bicycle manufacturing industry, and program-controlled production lines formed by adding program-controlled cars to the original trough production lines, mainly in Shanghai and Tianjin. During this period, the main task of China coating industry was anti-corrosion. However, with the development of China's economy and foreign painting technology, China's painting technology began to develop rapidly through technology introduction and exchange with foreign technology. In the automatic production of painting, the popularization and application of electrostatic spraying and electrophoretic painting technology, the research and popularization of powder spraying technology, especially the vigorous development of China's home appliance industry, have made remarkable progress in the painting of daily-use hardware, steel furniture, aluminum components, electrical products, automobile industry and other fields.
