Are the Shanghai Bund buildings traditional buildings?

The Bund buildings in Shanghai are not traditional buildings.

The Bund International Architecture Expo Group is a shadow of century-old Shanghai and a reflection of old Shanghai capitalism.

The Bund is located at the intersection of the Huangpu River and the Suzhou River, across the river from the Lujiazui Financial District in Pudong.

The main buildings include: Shanghai General Assembly, AIA Building, Asia Building, Nissin Building, Dongfeng Hotel, Weather Signal Station, etc.

The name comes from the fact that in the late Qing Dynasty, most of the river banks except the Huangpu River bank at the east gate of Shanghai County were a natural beach.

When the tide goes out, the river water gathers in the center of the river bed, exposing a large shoal.

When the tide rises, the river water reaches the river bank again.

The Huangpu River is the main river in Shanghai. Due to the width of the river and the strong currents, boats traveling against the current have to stretch their legs.

For hundreds of years, the tracks of trackers have carved a winding path on the Huangpu River beach, which people call the "towpath". This towpath is the earliest road on the Bund.

To the west of the towpath is farmland, with scattered huts dotted among the ditches.

In the idioms of place names in Shanghai, the upper reaches of the river are generally called "Li", and the lower reaches of the river are called "Outside". Before entering the old county town of Shanghai, there was a small tributary called Shanghai Pu (now gone). Shanghainese people

Taking the outlet of the small river in Shanghai as the boundary, the Huangpu River beach upstream is called "Inner Huangpu Beach", or "Inner Beach" for short, and the Huangpu River beach downstream of it is called "Outer Huangpu Beach", or "Bund" for short.
