Hate traditional funerals
This is not a bad habit, but a custom. Different nationalities, different regions and different places have different customs. Some may be simple, and some may be complicated. It can only be said that it is an emotional sustenance for the deceased, and it is a bit excessive to say that it is a bad habit. When I was a child, I grew up in the countryside and basically had a funeral every 3-4 days. I don't see any problem. When I was in college, I also exchanged this with my classmates in different places. Different places have different forms. I prefer to call it a universal custom. I wonder what the landlord wants to express? If this custom is removed, I think it will be the same as during the Cultural Revolution. The country can accept these now, which means accepting these customs. If all are removed, where does the national culture come from? Perhaps this is universal and can't represent culture, but the emotional bond of China people is related to it.
