Characteristics of three stages of world e-commerce development

The development of e-commerce in China has gone through the following three stages:

1, 99 ~ 2002 embryonic period.

At present, the number of netizens in China is very small compared with today. According to the statistics released in mid-2000, the number of Internet users in China is only100000. Moreover, at present, the online lifestyle of netizens only stays at the stage of sending and receiving emails and browsing news. Internet users are immature and the market is immature. The B2C e-commerce website represented by 8848 can be said to be the highlight at that time. Unfortunately, 8848 finally passed away. Several e-commerce platforms were not supported in the budding e-commerce environment, and only a group of junior netizens were born. It is quite difficult to develop e-commerce at this stage.

2. The period of rapid growth is from 2003 to 2006.

Dangdang, Zhuo Yue, Alibaba, HC, Global Buy, Taobao, these famous names have become hot spots on the Internet. These enterprises, which were born and raised on the Internet, rose in just a few years, and stirred up the whole communication and network world together with online games and SP enterprises. Take worry-free online recruitment as an example. At the beginning of 2003, in this enterprise, which specially publishes recruitment newspapers, newspaper advertisements were still posted online to recruit members. Today, giving away newspaper job advertisements to others has become an online job advertisement, which shows the great change (this example shows that the development of network applications has a far-reaching impact on traditional business).

There are three biggest changes in e-commerce at this stage:

The first change: a large number of netizens have gradually accepted the online shopping lifestyle, and this scale is still expanding at a high speed.

The second change: many small and medium-sized enterprises have obtained orders and sales opportunities from B2B e-commerce, and the concept of "online merchants" has penetrated into the hearts of merchants.

The third change: the basic environment of e-commerce continues to mature, and the bottlenecks of logistics, payment and integrity are basically solved. In the field of B2B/B2C/C2C, many online merchants have grown rapidly and accumulated a lot of experience and funds in e-commerce operation and management.

3.2007- 10 e-commerce in-depth development stage.

The most obvious feature of this stage is that e-commerce is not just the world of Internet companies. Numerous traditional enterprises and funds have poured into the field of e-commerce, making the world of e-commerce colorful.

First of all, the listing of Alibaba and Netsun indicates that the development of B2B field has entered a stage of standardization and steady development;

Taobao's strategic adjustment and Baidu's test of water mean that the C2C market will continue to optimize and segment the market while developing at a high speed. The popularity of JD.COM, Red Kids and PPG not only set off the whole B2C field, but also made many traditional businesses follow suit.

From 2007 to 10, the development of e-commerce in China will reach a new height. Although it will not subvert people's living habits, we will certainly see more exciting new things, and we will see a new era in which the real society and the virtual society are constantly integrating and developing.
