Self-study

Zen paintings in recent months are basically "single pattern+square or round pattern". The more complicated the painting, the simpler it is. Complexity means that the pattern around Zen becomes more complicated; Simple is to gradually understand the "logic" of Zen painting, which is easier to get started.

At first, I learned to meditate and paint around to calm my heart. After painting for a long time, I found that Zen itself does not have "magic" and can bring "peace of mind". Meditation requires training yourself over time. The control of "thoughts, thoughts and emotions" and the control of "hands, pens and paper" are all training processes.

I collected some Zen materials last year, but I didn't stick to it after painting a few.

This summer vacation, I restarted the plan of "self-learning Zen and painting it around" and practiced intensively for nearly two months. Now finally touch some rules:

1. Set direction: determine the type of meditation, whether it is single mode, continuous mode, random mode, circular mode, square mode or geometric change mode. ...

2. Drawing: According to the pattern type, draw a "square" with a pencil or ruler, or draw a "circle" with a compass, draw a draft, and set the distance and density of Zen painting.

3. Sketch details: use ordinary ballpoint pen or Gou Xianbi to trace lines, finalize the design and add details.

3+ 1. coloring: coloring with watercolor pen or colored lead, flat coating or overlapping colors. Color matching, using "adjacent colors, such as yellow orange, yellow green, blue purple, etc." Or "contrasting colors", such as red, green, yellow and blue. Will make the picture look cleaner and simpler.

5. Shading: Shading with a gray watercolor pen or a black pencil will make the picture look more layered.

6. Highlight: Highlight the picture with white chalk or white gouache pigment.

The above are the Zen techniques and painting processes commonly used recently, hoping to help.
