In the early days of the founding of New China, Han Shaoyun, Hua Shulan, Xiao Junting and Xin Yanling jumped from Shenyang and became popular all over the country. They are called "the four storytellers in Shenyang", and even the three storytelling schools of "Han, Hua and Xiao Yu" have naturally formed.

Xiao Junting is the only surviving founder among the six major critics of traditional Chinese opera (Bai, Xin, Xian, Han, Hua and Xiao Yu).
