What organs can a person donate after death?

A person can provide heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, pancreas, small intestine, eyeballs, etc. after being judged brain dead or cardiac arrest.

Human death is defined as brain necrosis, but the organs of the human body do not die with the death of brain cells; they can survive for a certain period of time after the death of brain cells, and the duration of their survival varies significantly depending on the method of preservation. Cornea: It can be preserved in tissue culture for a maximum of 3 to 4 months, and in the frozen state for a maximum of 6 to 12 months.

Liver: can generally be preserved for 2 to 8 hours after injection into an electrolytic solution, within which time it can be transplanted.

Donation is gratuitous and uncompensated.

Natural persons who have reached the age of eighteen and have full capacity for civil behavior can donate living organs, and there should be written proof of consent to donation before donation. The donation of living organs by the donor shall not jeopardize his or her life.

Natural persons who are willing to donate organs after death shall have written proof of consent to donation; if there is only a verbal expression of consent to donation, the following conditions shall be met:

1. There shall be a written proof of his/her spouse as well as two physicians;

2. If there is no spouse, there shall be a written proof of his/her parents or adult children as well as two physicians;

3, If there is no spouse, parents or adult children, there are two other close relatives as well as a written certificate from two physicians;

4. If there is no close relative, there is a written certificate from the workplace or the residential (village) committee of the place of residence, the nursing home and other organizations as well as two physicians.
