How to sun the quilt

Currently, there are three common materials

Cotton quilts

Inside the filler is cotton, the more traditional and common.

Chemical fiber quilts (four-hole cotton, seven-hole cotton, etc.)

Protein quilts (silk, down, wool)

Internal filling is made of animal protein fiber.

Cotton quilts

easy to moisture, need to dry often, the best is every two weeks in the sun for 2 ~ 3 hours, and a slight pat to make it stay fluffy and restore the fluffiness.

And cotton quilts with 2~3 years also need to be knotted boards of old cotton wool re-bouncing loose, so as not to affect the warmth.

Chemical fiber quilt

Chemical fiber quilt is polyester and other fibers for the filler, that is, we often say "seven holes quilt", "nine holes quilt" and so on.

Generally speaking, chemical fiber quilt use 1~2 months to turn the sun, keep fluffy can, basic no special maintenance. Acrylic quilts can be washed, wash once a year, can effectively prevent the growth of bacteria.

Silk quilt

Not long time exposure, try to avoid it by the direct sunlight, only need to light sunshine about 1 hour or every two weeks in the best in the cool ventilation to dry for 2 hours, after drying with the hand gently patted in order to maintain its fluffiness.

Note that the silk quilt must be air-dried in a cool, ventilated place before storage, and must not be stored in a humid, hot environment.

Wool quilts

need to be dried regularly, but not too often, in a ventilated place to dry 1 hour can be. Do not expose to sunlight, high temperature will make the oil in the wool change to produce a rancid odor, which will make the wool lose its elasticity. When storing wool quilts, just put them in a dry and ventilated place.

Down comforter

Because the down will lump and deteriorate when it absorbs moisture, it should be taken to a ventilated place for drying frequently, usually for 1~2 hours.

Remember not to expose to the sun, when drying with a hand or a small stick patting, so that the down to restore the natural fluffy state, in order to avoid deterioration and bacterial growth. The collection should be placed in a ventilated and dry environment to prevent it from getting damp and causing mold.
