Reform and Development of Chinese Medicine
In March 1987, the Ministry of Health and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly issued the Opinions on Strengthening the Development of Chinese Medicine Dosage Forms, which called for "research and reform of commonly used Chinese medicine tablets". After years of exploration, modern Chinese medicine has been developed in the direction of easy to take, fast absorption, accurate measurement, safe and clean, convenient to carry, and no need to decoct. In the combination of this Chinese national treasure with modern science and technology, Jiangyin Tianjiang people took the lead in creating "Concentrated Granules of Single-flavored Chinese Medicine (now named: Chinese Medicine Formula Granules)", which is a single-flavored Chinese medicine product refined from Chinese medicine tablets through extraction, concentration, drying and other processes. It maintains the flavor and efficacy of the Chinese medicine tablets, and is used in the preparation of Chinese medicine prescriptions, adapting to the needs of diagnosis and treatment and changes in prescriptions, and is a model of innovation in Chinese medicine.
Most of the modern research on Chinese medicine has made remarkable progress: 1) the basic theory of Chinese medicine has been systematically and comprehensively organized, and a great deal of research has been done on the medicinal properties, categorization, and eighteen countermeasures, etc. The experimental research on eighteen countermeasures has achieved greater results. However, the research in this area is more difficult, there are many problems to be solved. ② Pharmacognosy and identification of traditional Chinese medicine, in addition to the general source of identification of traditional Chinese medicine, trait identification, but also commonly used microscopic, physical and chemical means. And identification technology has been to use a small number of samples to achieve rapid and accurate direction. Through the modern research on the techniques and principles of Chinese medicine concoctions, the science of Chinese medicine concoctions has been greatly developed. Accordingly, many Chinese medicines have been improved and standardized, and many advanced equipments and technologies have been adopted to improve the quality of tablets. The chemistry of traditional Chinese medicine has been established, and the chemical composition of traditional Chinese medicine has been extensively studied. Most of the commonly used traditional Chinese medicines have clarified their main active ingredients, and some of them have clarified their chemical structures. (5) Pharmacology of Chinese medicines was established. The pharmacology of most commonly used Chinese medicines was systematically studied; a large number of drugs were screened for antibacterial, antiviral, antitumor, antipyretic, diuretic, and antihypertensive properties. Polysaccharides, tannins, amino acids, peptides, etc., which were not noticed in the past, have now been found to have various biological activities. It plays an important role in elucidating the efficacy of Chinese medicines. ③ With the development of Chinese medicine preparations, the increase of new dosage forms, and the improvement of quality testing and control methods, the production of proprietary Chinese medicines has been modernized. In order to standardize the formulation of pharmaceutical standards, the Ministry of Health early established the Pharmacopoeia Compilation Committee, which was later changed to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia Committee, and published and distributed seven editions of the Chinese People's *** and National Pharmacopoeias in 1953, 1963, 1977, 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2010. Since 1963, the Pharmacopoeia has been organized into "one" and "two" parts. The "one part" is the Chinese medicine part, which mainly contains Chinese herbal medicines, Chinese medicine prescription preparations, and other general regulations and appendices of the general rules of preparation, Chinese medicine testing methods, etc. The versions of Chinese medicines contained in the Pharmacopoeia have been published in various editions. The 2010 edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia was published in three parts, one containing medicinal materials and tablets, plant oils and extracts, formulas and single-flavored preparations, etc., with 2,136 varieties*** and 612 revisions. The contents of Chinese medicines, according to the different varieties and dosage forms, are listed in order: Chinese name, Hanyu Pinyin and Latin name, source, prescription, method of preparation, properties, identification, inspection, leachate, content determination, flavor and categorization, function and main treatment, usage and dosage, attention, specifications, storage, preparation, etc. The contents of appendices and advanced tests are also listed in order. The content of the appendix and advanced testing methods have increased greatly. At the same time, the state has always attached great importance to the construction of pharmaceutical law, has formulated a number of management methods related to traditional Chinese medicine, and so in 1984, the state passed the "People's Republic of China **** and the State Drug Administration Law". The promulgation of the Drug Administration Law is of great significance to the protection of people's health, the development of China's pharmaceutical and health care programs, and the enhancement of the competitiveness of China's drugs in the international market.
