What is lion dancing and picking green?
Picking green is the fixed link and climax of traditional lion dance in China. In the process of lion dance, especially during the Spring Festival, the "lion" hunts "Li" hanging on a high place or placed in a basin through a series of routine performances. Because "Li" is often accompanied by green vegetables (mostly lettuce), it is named "Caiqing".
The moral of lion dance is a fixed link in the traditional lion dance activities of Han nationality, and it is the climax of lion dance activities. Originally, it had the meaning of "anti-Qing and regaining sight", but now it is generally taken as a symbol of "prosperity" and commercial prosperity.
Lion dance needs to prepare red envelopes and vegetables. The so-called green picking means that during the Lunar New Year, every household offers blessings to attract lions.
