What is the principle of changing face in Peking Opera?
First, wipe your face.
Wipe your face is similar to make-up. Before you go on stage, the actors will paint your face. When you perform, you can change the color of your face with a touch. If you need to change the color of a small part, you can hide the pigment in your hand and change the color when you need to change your face.
Second, blowing powder
Face blowing is a rough face changing technique, which is rarely used in formal performances. It needs to prepare a small box filled with colored powder in advance, and the actor hides the box in his sleeve or clothes. The performance is that actors usually take the opportunity to blow powder on their faces with prone movements to change the color of their faces.
Third, pull a face
Pulling a face requires more basic skills of performers. It needs to draw the required facial makeup on a specific cloth in advance, cut it into a suitable size and stick it on the performer's face piece by piece. Each face is connected by a specific silk thread, and its end is fixed in the secret part of the clothes. When changing face, the performer will skillfully and naturally tear off the masks one by one in coordination with the dance movements. Good artists can make seven or nine changes at a time.
In addition to the above three methods, there are tearing face, sticking face, changing face with luck and so on. But with the passage of time, I can hardly see it now. Face changing, as the essence of art, has also been used in other plays and is loved by more and more people.
