Does velvet have mechanical products?

Velvet has no mechanical products.

Cashmere can only be made by hand, and the machine cannot replace it. Each kind of velvet is unique, and the production process is complicated. The production process of velvet flower is divided into nine processes, namely, silk refining, dyeing, drying, silk hooking, ironing, sewing, flower passing, applique and packaging.

1. Silk refining: After the whole silk is loose, soak it in cold water for one day, and then cook it in alkaline water for a long time to prevent overcooking. Cooked silk is called "cooked velvet", which is soft, strong and not easy to fall off. Brass wire should be annealed and softened by charcoal fire.

2. Dyeing: depending on the color of the velvet product to be made, dyeing is needed. Generally, there are dozens of colored silks.

3. Drying: Put the dyed velvet on a bamboo pole and dry it in the sun. During this period, you must turn it frequently and keep it straight.

4. Hooking: Also known as "blanking", according to the needs of product production, the cooked velvet of various colors is divided into velvet belts according to a certain length and width, which are evenly arranged and fixed on an object, and then brushed flat and evenly one by one with a bristle brush. Fold a brass wire in half, twist one end into a small spiral fork to clamp the evenly arranged velvet belt from the front, then merge the other end and twist it into a spiral shape, cut the cooked velvet according to the required specifications with scissors, twist both hands in the opposite direction at the same time, and then further process it into uniform and round velvet strips with a wooden washboard. This process is commonly known as "velvet rolling" by velvet artists. Cotton wool is the main material for making velvet flowers, and it is also the basic component in the production process.

5. Velvet ironing: according to the needs, the round velvet iron or iron is ironed into a flat shape, which is used to make flowers, birds' wings, tails, feathers and other parts.

6. Pointing: According to the different needs of cashmere products, use scissors to cut round wool strips into obtuse angles, acute angles, semicircles, spheres, ellipsoids and other suitable shapes.

7. Flower transfer: Use tweezers to shape and combine different colors and specifications to make three-dimensional birds, animals, fish, insects, flowers, etc.

8. Applique: The independent velvet strips and other accessories such as the mouth, crown, eyes, tail, legs and feet of the velvet bird are combined with auxiliary materials such as lead wire, colored paper, material beads, crystal beads, rapeseed and so on, and the required products are made by sticking them on the corresponding parts with white milk.

9. Packaging: According to the creative design of the product, glass frames, bamboo baskets, bird nests, flower pots and other accessories need to be assembled.

In 1980s, Nanjing Arts and Crafts Factory was established, and the cashmere products produced were mostly exported to animals except a few traditional products.
