Recognition of Traditional Culture and Biodiversity Conservation

Biodiversity is the basis for the formation of cultural diversity, while cultural diversity can also enrich and protect biodiversity, and the formation and development of the two are mutually reinforcing. This paper demonstrates the close relationship between biodiversity and cultural diversity by taking the high degree of consistency in the distribution of international "hot spots" of plant diversity and linguistic diversity as an example. It also analyzes the characteristics of traditional culture of ethnic minorities in Yunnan, revealing the special importance of traditional culture for the protection and sustainable use of biological resources, and shows that the protection of traditional culture can directly promote the protection of biodiversity, and the loss of traditional culture will lead to the loss of biodiversity.
