Dongguan City Railway (Connecting the City, Smooth the Future)

Introduction

Located in the eastern part of Guangdong Province, Dongguan is one of the major cities in the Pearl River Delta region. As the city continues to grow, traffic conditions have become increasingly congested. In order to solve this problem, the Dongguan government decided to build an urban rail transit system, the Dongguan City Railway.

Planning

Dongguan City Railway plans to build 2 lines, namely Line 1 and Line 2. Among them, Line 1 starts from Chang'an Town, Dongguan City, and ends at Fenggang Town, Dongguan City, with a total length of about 46 kilometers and 25 stations; Line 2 starts from Nancheng District, Dongguan City, and ends at Dongguan Guancheng District, Dongguan City, with a total length of about 25 kilometers and 13 stations.

Construction progress

At present, Dongguan City Railway Line 1 has begun construction and is expected to be opened to traffic in 2022. Line 2 has also completed the preliminary work and is expected to start construction in 2023.

Operating steps

1. Purchase tickets: Passengers can buy tickets at station ticket windows or self-service ticket machines. Tickets can also be purchased through cell phone APP.

2. Entering the station: Passengers need to enter the station by swiping the card or scanning the code at the entrance. Before entering the station, you need to put your belongings into the security checker for inspection.

3. Traveling by train: Passengers need to follow the station signs to the appropriate platform and wait for the train to arrive. Once the train arrives, passengers need to follow the door signs to enter the train compartment.

4. Getting off the train: After arriving at the destination, passengers need to get off the train according to the door signs. After getting off the train, they need to swipe or scan the code at the exit gate above the platform.

The construction of the Dongguan City Railway will greatly ease the traffic pressure in Dongguan City and improve the travel efficiency of the public.
