Descendants of Lu embroidery
Wang Diantai, who was born in an ordinary peasant family, still clearly remembers her mother drawing pictures on cloth, threading needles and then changing them into vivid patterns. This may be the earliest enlightenment of Lu embroidery art to him. 1966, with solid artistic skills, Wang Diantai was admitted to the pattern designer of Wendeng Embroidery Factory. When he was sent to Yantai Arts and Crafts Society for further study, faced with a large number of western lace drawings left over from the old church and several skilled masters, Wang Diantai was immersed in the ocean of embroidery art after a long drought. After returning to the factory, his "small buckle lock" craft became famous in one fell swoop. Since then, absorption, accumulation and innovation have become the unchangeable track of Wang Diantai's creation.
"Those who learn from me live like I die" is a famous saying of Master Qi Baishi. Qi Lao's achievements in China ink painting art may be due to his spirit. Wang Diantai also took this sentence as the motto of his artistic pursuit. The difference is that his traditional Chinese painting is painted on cloth, his brush is steel needle, and his pigment is multicolored lines. He explained the profound connotation of Lu embroidery, a long-standing Chinese embroidery culture, in a brand-new way and with a brand-new concept. He absorbed the essence of traditional hand-woven lace pattern style and combined it with the techniques of reeling, peeling, locking, hooking and twisting in the main embroidery variety "Diao" at that time, creating a unique "fake lace", which greatly improved the artistic appreciation value of Lu embroidery. If "carving Ping Xiu" is a small jasper, then "fake lace" is a good family.
On the basis of "fake lace", he also created a new process of "bead embroidery", which changed pure cotton thread into a combination of cotton thread and wool, and put all wool on the upper part of the cloth surface through the function of cotton thread, which fully reflected the theme of "the more embroidery threads are displayed on the cloth surface, the larger the obvious working area and the more successful the work" in embroidery design. The embroidery embroidered by this process has a patchwork pattern and distinct layers, which perfectly embodies the three-dimensional sense of relief and the texture of wool, and won the prize in the provincial handicraft competition. Later, the brothers of Tianfu Bian, Velvet Embroidery and later world-famous Yunlong Embroidery, Dilong Embroidery, were born one after another, which made Wendeng Lu Embroidery more expressive and artistic.
1982 65438+ 10, the first invention patent in the history of machine embroidery in China and in the field of Chinese embroidery-the new technology of "Qiao Lian Mu" machine embroidery was born with Wang Diantai's painstaking research and repeated trial production by technicians. This technology successfully applies the principle of electrothermal technology to machine embroidery, and applies the needle method of "straight silk ladder stool" in hand embroidery technology to machine embroidery for the first time, realizing flexible and smooth bending and operation. Those traditional Lu embroidery artists can finally put down the steel needle, rub their sore fingers, squint their eyes, and watch the machine needle fly on the cloth, and watch the machine needle embroider their dreams for many years faster with more precise stitches.
The triumphant picture is the representative work of this period. The pattern originated from a practical photo of plush crochet provided by a Canadian friend, Ms. Fu Lan. With profound artistic skills, Wang Diantai made deductive changes in the types and patterns of his works, organically combining traditional carving, silk drawing, flower drawing and large-scale hand-cut silk with new machine embroidery techniques. Unfolding the fabric, the elegant peacock symbolizing "good luck" is lifelike, as if coming from the fog of history, telling you the beauty of this road and the pride of this body. Pieces of colorful feathers are like flying poems, gorgeous and elegant.
"Someone can add some beauty to the world, and this person is the favored son of heaven." Wang Diantai's creation is always related to beauty. Those quiet creations make embroidery more elegant and vivid. Wang Diantai spread wisdom through innovation from "showing flowers by chiseling eyes" based on "skillfully linking eyes" to "making flowers by chiseling eyes", and then combined the main types of hand embroidery with "skillfully linking eyes". 1 1 month. New machine embroidery methods such as "Yunlong needle" and "rebound needle" are adopted to adapt to the new machine embroidery products of "Yunlong embroidery" of various fabrics, which successfully realizes a major breakthrough in hand embroidery painting technology in machine embroidery products and completes a historic leap from traditional hand embroidery to machine embroidery in the development history of Lu embroidery.
"Ruyi Serial" is the masterpiece of Yunlong embroidery, which is called "a unique artistic wonder" by many experts and scholars in the industry. Its structure is rigorous and its pattern is lively. With good luck as the theme of the pattern, the pattern has obvious rhythm and rich sense of rhythm, which not only pays attention to the aesthetic feeling and ingenious interconnection of local patterns, but also takes into account the composition effect of the overall pattern. Its pattern modeling and handicraft structure are similar to those of hand-knotted lace, but it is also more flexible and vivid. Technically, the main flower rose is embroidered with bright silk thread mixed with needles, which is both thick and tall and has a floating feeling; The new technology of "skillfully connecting wood" is its main technology, which is properly used in a large number of patterns to make it crystal clear and full of three-dimensional sense; Decorate the appropriate position with a more transparent locking process, which further enhances the hierarchical effect of the pattern. In color, the works are endowed with bronze and ochre, presenting a simple, elegant, clear and harmonious color world. That kind of trance floated from the beauty, harmony and grandeur of Tang poetry and Song poetry. It looks shocking, but it seems that there is a faint fragrance on my face, and I don't know where I am.
The launch of "Yunlong Embroidery" caused a sensation in the arts and crafts circles. At the China Machine Embroidery Product Awards Conference in July 1985, the "Yunlong Embroidery" designed by Wang Diantai attracted people's extensive attention for its exquisite techniques, romantic and exaggerated expressions and typical artistic style. Some experts saw the realistic style and suspected that it was hand-woven. When Wang Diantai turned the sample upside down to let people witness the clear pattern of machine embroidery, everyone present was amazed and the venue was a sensation. In the first China Arts and Crafts Hundred Flowers Award Awards, "Yunlong Embroidery" stood out from thousands of works, was rated as the first in the country, and won the highest quality National Gold Cup Award. And won the first invention patent in Chinese embroidery industry.
Ruyi series, as a representative work of Yunlong embroidery, is collected by the Treasures Museum of China Arts and Crafts Museum, and is listed as an artistic treasure presented by national leaders to friends in international exchange activities.
In the 1990s, with the efforts of Wang Diantai and technicians, new machine-embroidered products such as "Carving Jade Dragon, Huilongsuo, Dragonfly Yarn" were successively developed. The products of "Carving Jade Dragon" combine the essence of various techniques such as buckle lock, EMI, Huilong lock, etc., and make bold reforms and innovations in fabric, auxiliary materials, process stitch, etc., so that the product locks the stems from line to surface and from surface to body, and the embroidered surface is thick and straight, ethereal and transparent, with a unique sense of cloth relief. As a handicraft, Carving Jade Dragon won the first prize in the second China Arts and Crafts Hundred Flowers Award Appraisal, and won the second national highest quality gold medal trophy for Yunlong Embroidery Group. As a commodity, "Carved Jade Dragon" sold for more than 20 million yuan in the year when it was put on the international market.
1July, 1993, Mr. Huang Wenxiong, general manager of Xintai Company, as a long-term distributor of Yunlong Embroidery in the United States, is also one of the largest bedding distributors in the United States. Perhaps out of his preference for Wendeng Lu Embroidery, or out of his gratitude for the huge profits brought by Wendeng Lu Embroidery products, he deliberately crossed the ocean and presented a piece of Wendeng Yunlong where Mr. Wang Diantai is located with the words "exquisite craftsmanship and continuous innovation".

Director of Shandong Arts and Crafts Association
65438-0978 began to work in the former Lu embroidery institute (destroyed and dissolved in 2006). She has embroidered portraits of celebrities many times, and many embroidery products are presented to international friends as national gifts. She has embroidered national treasures such as Confucius, Xiu Xiang, Seven Sages of Bamboo Forest and Six Juntu, and her works are favored by successful people and collectors.
Xu's Lu embroidery (hair embroidery) works are good at expressing the pen and ink effect of China's paintings and calligraphy, especially at reproducing the animal's texture. Embroidery is elegant, realistic, rough and subtle, which truly reproduces the original features of ancient and modern Chinese painting masters. It has the characteristics of special hand embroidery, good preservation and easy collection. Xu's Lu embroidery is complicated in technology and fine in workmanship. It takes tens to hundreds of days for a work to be successfully embroidered. Therefore, her Lu embroidery (hair embroidery) is very rare and has a very high collection value.
