What is the principle of the flow cytometer counting method

Flow cytometry is the counting of particles passing through a laser beam by means of a laser.

When a particle or cell passes through the laser beam, it refracts and reflects the light. This refracted and reflected signal is recorded by a detector. For every cell that passes through, a peak is created and finally the number of peaks is recorded and counted
