The development history of mold industry, and the corresponding pictures!

I. Overview

Tool and mould materials are the foundation of tool and mould processing industry. With the development of China's national economy and the improvement of people's living standards, people's aesthetic standards and values of products are constantly improving, so that all kinds of die products are getting higher and higher in internal quality and appearance quality, which is bound to put forward higher requirements for die materials in quantity, series and quality. From scratch, from small to large, from small to large, the mold materials in China have developed with the development of mold manufacturing industry, regardless of steel grade, specification, standardization and serialization.

1950s and 1970s (blank stage)

In the past 30 years, due to the planned economy model and China's industrial structure following the production model of the former Soviet Union, mold manufacturing was purely attached to an accessory processing workshop of the enterprise. Moreover, due to many factors such as slow industrial development and economic closure, as well as people's living standards at a very low level of consumption, the industrialization, socialization and commercialization of mold manufacturing have been suppressed. As a result, the mold manufacturing industry has low or no requirements for the materials it uses, and the relationship between supply and demand is in an unreasonable chaotic state.

Three or eighty years (development stage)

With the reform and opening up and the growth of national economy, the development of mold manufacturing industry has been greatly promoted. Mold manufacturing industry has gone out of the state of enterprise imprisonment. In recent ten years, China has developed a number of new die steels suitable for China's national conditions through cooperation with universities, research institutes and steel mills. Not only the processability is improved, but also the service life of the die is greatly improved. Imitation D2 steel replaces Cr 12MoV to make stamping die, and P20 steel replaces 45 steel to make plastic model core and cavity, which greatly improves the smoothness and service life of the die. H 13 steel is used to manufacture forging dies and die-casting dies, replacing 3CW8V which has been eliminated abroad. In cold working die steel, 65Nb, O 12A, CG-2, LM 1-2, ld, GD, GM, DS and other steels have been independently developed. Among them, 65Nb, LD, GD and DS steels are more suitable for cold piers and punching punches because of their good impact resistance. GM steel has good wear resistance and is especially suitable for threaded rollers. Compared with Cr 12MoV, its service life can be increased by more than ten times. In addition to the above alloy steels, GT35 and DT steel-bonded cemented carbides and YG series tungsten-cobalt cemented carbides have been developed to meet the requirements of long service life and to manufacture dies for high-speed punching machines. In terms of plastic die steel, free-cutting steels such as 5NiCa, 06Ni, SM 1, SM2, PMS, CPR, PCY, etc. They are all self-developed, excellent steel products with good processability and usability, and have been recognized by users in use. The development and application of new hot-working die steels such as Y4, Y 10, HM- 1, GR, ER8 have completely changed the situation that the hot-working die is dominated by 3Cr2W8V for decades.

Forty or ninety years (competition stage)

With the development of China's national economy and the upgrading of its products, China has become a big producer of molds and mold materials. According to the statistics of 1997, the annual consumption of mold materials in China is130,000 tons, including 4.5 tons in Pugang. This shows that the mould, a special product, has gradually developed from spare parts under the planned economy to commodities under the market economy in recent ten years, and has been paid more and more attention by mould manufacturers in terms of quality and brand. As a country with growing industry and rapid product upgrading, the development of its molds has been further valued by product manufacturers. Therefore, the development, trial production and production of a series of mold materials that have been successfully developed in the past and can adapt to different working conditions and product manufacturing requirements have become the market hotspots of competition among major special steel mills. However, the large-scale production equipment of major steel mills can't adapt because of its various specifications and less single demand for the same specification, and it can't be purchased in real time in the market. Therefore, we are looking for suitable agents to achieve economies of scale. However, although many agents have a lot of money in their hands, they don't know enough about mold working conditions, material characteristics and related heat treatment, and they all stay in the fierce competition of general steel. In addition, foreign senior institutions and famous steel mills have also organized heavy troops in recent years, trying to squeeze into the mold material market in China. For example, Sweden's NUDDEHOLM and ASSAB, as well as Germany's Thyssen, Sastre, Japan's Datong and other companies, have set up the banner of excellent special steel in Shanghai and even the whole country. However, due to their high prices, it has gradually become impossible to carry out large-scale sales. Even well-known foreign-funded enterprises in China are looking for low-cost and high-quality mold materials in China.
