[Purpose of class meeting]

[Class meeting background]
The fifth day of the fifth lunar month is the traditional Dragon Boat Festival in China. According to legend, an outstanding example of patriotism in the Warring States period more than 2,000 years ago, Qu Yuan, a great poet in ancient China, threw himself into the river on this day. In order to commemorate him, later generations designated this day as the Dragon Boat Festival, and there are also customs such as eating zongzi and racing dragon boats in various places. For various reasons, many students don't know much about the cultural connotation of this traditional festival. Therefore, holding this class meeting on the Dragon Boat Festival will help students understand the relevant historical knowledge, clarify the cultural connotation of the Dragon Boat Festival, let students receive an education on patriotism and morality, and at the same time educate students to love labor.

(Students discuss)
Moderator: Now, please let the representatives of each group briefly introduce the class situation.
Student: Omit.
Moderator: I am in favor of making traditional festivals such as New Year's Eve, Tomb-Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and Double Ninth Festival legal holidays, because this will give people time to experience China's own historical traditions and enjoy the' spiritual pleasure' brought by festivals. But I don't agree to replace the traditional festivals in China with traditional festivals abroad, because it is not conducive to carrying forward the traditional culture of the Chinese nation. Finally, please ask the class teacher to give us a summary.
Head teacher: Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival in China. China's traditional festivals are an important part of China's traditional culture. Traditional festivals are the carriers of China culture, which are not only diverse and popular, but also deeply loved by families and even the whole nation. Various ceremonies of traditional festivals have been loved by the Chinese nation for thousands of years. They are the expression of the inner feelings of the Chinese nation and contain rich aesthetic ideals and ethical pursuits. Cherishing our traditional festivals can play a role in conserving the roots of the Chinese nation and promoting the soul of the nation. Therefore, we should love our motherland and cherish our traditional festivals.
