A Study on Developing Class Cultural Activities by Traditional Festivals
First, the use of traditional festivals in China for ideological education of students.
Implementing Scientific Outlook on Development and promoting the construction of a harmonious socialist society are the expansion of the concept of sustainable development to society, culture and ethics. In the field of education, in addition to educating the educated with values, behaviors and lifestyles consistent with sustainable development, the connotation of education needs to be enriched and expanded, covering environmental education, development education, democracy and legal education, cultural diversity education and other fields. These educational fields will adapt to the concept of building a harmonious society and play an irreplaceable role.
Cultural diversity means that culture has different manifestations in different regions and different periods, and traditional festivals are one of the manifestations of cultural diversity. Festivals are formed by people's grasp of nature, including fixed festivals and specific cultural activities. Festivals have an extremely important relationship with a nation's civilization, and festival culture is actually a national culture. If the people of a nation don't know, understand, remember or feel about their festivals, it indicates the disappearance of the national cultural foundation, the interruption of cultural memory and inheritance, and the strategy of sustainable development education can't be realized in this nation.
Traditional festivals in China include Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and Double Ninth Festival. It's all handed down from history. These traditional festivals and customs reflect the economic situation and living habits of the ancient people in China, embody family ties and reunion, as well as great national spirit, lofty national integrity, noble national feelings and good national etiquette, which not only constitute the profound cultural heritage of the Chinese nation, but also bear the genes of the cultural origin of the Chinese nation, and are valuable spiritual and cultural heritage.
However, the living environment of Chinese traditional festivals is facing the severe challenge of economic globalization and modernization, and the gradual deepening of western culture has caused a serious impact on Chinese traditional folk culture. Traditional festivals are increasingly ignored by young people, and a considerable number of young students have become ignorant or indifferent to traditional festivals with national characteristics, and are keen on "Christmas" and "Valentine's Day" in the West. Therefore, it is very urgent for educators to use traditional festivals in China to educate students. It is necessary for us to let students know the traditional customs and traditional morality contained in traditional festivals through education. Through festivals, students can receive the edification and education of traditional virtues and inherit and carry forward the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation. In a word, it is the duty and responsibility of our educators to inherit, carry forward and develop the traditional festivals in China, influence the younger generation with the traditional virtues of China, and implement the educational strategy of sustainable development, which is also the need of building a harmonious socialist society.
Second, how to use the traditional festivals in China to educate students.
1, integrating traditional festival education into classroom teaching
In the middle school curriculum, there are many contents related to the traditional festival education in China, and we should dig deep into the cultural connotation contained in them. Through teaching, students can better understand, recognize and love traditional festivals and carry forward Chinese traditional virtues. Fully tap the rich national culture contained in politics, history, Chinese, geography and other disciplines, and carry out education on traditional festivals and traditional virtues. For example, using the poems of the Double Ninth Festival in Chinese textbooks for teaching, teachers can not only let students know the origin, symbolic significance and festival activities of the Double Ninth Festival, but also feel the richness of China culture and experience people's affection by analyzing the background and content of Du Fu's Ascending the Mountain, Wang Wei's Mountain Residence Sacrifice, Li Qingzhao's Drunken Flower Yin Chongyang and Mao Zedong's Mulberry Picking on the Double Ninth Festival.
2. Incorporate China traditional festival education into the theme practice.
Extracurricular activities are an important way to carry forward and cultivate national spirit. We make use of specific traditional festivals to actively develop the educational resources contained in them, organize and guide students' independent activities, independent inquiry and personal experience, so that students can gain experience in activities, increase their knowledge in experience, purify and sublimate their emotions and externalize them into concrete actions. For example, combined with the Dragon Boat Festival, theme class activities are carried out in junior high schools, so that students can take a trip to the Dragon Boat Festival, make a "Dragon Boat Festival sachet" and perform a "Dragon Boat Festival Legend". Through these activities, students can have a sense of intimacy and identity with the customs of the Dragon Boat Festival; During the Spring Festival, students are invited to copy Spring Festival couplets and take photos reflecting the Spring Festival celebrations. During the activity, students can experience the strong "Chinese flavor" and mellow "China sentiment", and feel the profoundness of China culture. Lantern Festival to carry out "Lantern Festival riddles" activities; Carry out education activities of loving and respecting the elderly and chrysanthemum appreciation activities on the Double Ninth Festival; In the Mid-Autumn Festival, we will hold a poetry meeting, enjoy the moon, cultivate sentiment and spirit. These activities can not only make students realize the profoundness of China culture, but also understand the traditional virtues of Chinese civilization, which is of great benefit to building a harmonious society.
We have also made bold innovations on the basis of the original forms of festival activities. In the past, when we carried out activities in Tomb-Sweeping Day, we always took the form of hiking and sweeping the tombs of martyrs, but the students were not satisfied with this festival form. So we carried out Tomb-Sweeping Day memorial service and epitaph identification activities, which can not only cultivate students' writing ability, but also enable students to deeply understand the traditional customs and culture of China, and also enable students to cherish life and know how to respect the deceased. Parents are very satisfied with this activity and give strong support.
3. Integrate traditional festival education into environmental creation.
The environment often produces the educational function of "moistening things quietly", so we should actively create a festive environment, create a strong campus atmosphere, and carry forward national traditional culture and traditional virtues.
First of all, we arranged exhibition boards on the campus about traditional festivals in China, showing the origin, legends, customs and habits of each traditional festival, highlighting the theme of national culture in the form of pictures and texts, and revealing the internal motivation of national development. Let students always feel the strong national traditional cultural atmosphere.
Second, make full use of campus radio and flag-raising ceremony to publicize traditional festivals, effectively carry forward national culture, mobilize students' enthusiasm for understanding traditional festivals in China, and add strong cultural charm to the beautiful campus.
Third, expand the publicity of achievements through information technology. We instruct students to make websites about traditional festivals in China and publish them on campus, so that all students can inherit the excellent traditional virtues of the Chinese nation.
It is not only necessary but also feasible to educate students by using traditional festivals in China. When the younger generation gradually forgets the traditional festivals in China, we use classrooms and various educational resources to educate students, which not only makes students understand the traditional virtues of China culture, but also enhances their sense of responsibility and mission, which is of great benefit to building a harmonious society and implementing sustainable development.
