Introduction of I.M. Pei
I.M. Pei went to the United States in 1930s and studied architecture at MIT and Harvard University. He has successively won 1979 Gold Award of American Architecture Society, 198 1 French Architecture Gold Award, 1989 Imperial Japan Award, 1983 Fifth Pritzker Award, 1986 Medal of Freedom awarded by President Reagan, etc. Known as "the last master of modern architecture".
I.M. Pei's works are mainly public buildings, cultural and educational buildings, which are classified as modernist buildings and make good use of steel, concrete, glass and stone. His representative works include the expansion of the Louvre in Paris, the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong and the new Suzhou Museum.

1, Louvre pyramid
Located in the main courtyard of the Louvre in Paris, the Louvre pyramid is a huge pyramid made of glass and metal, surrounded by three smaller pyramids.
The Great Pyramid is the main entrance of the Louvre Museum. It was designed by Chinese American architect I.M. Pei and completed in 1989. It has become a landmark of Paris.
2. Suzhou Museum
Suzhou Museum was founded on 1960. The museum site, Zhongwangfu of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, is one of the first national key cultural relics protection units and a well-preserved historical building complex of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in China.
1999 Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government invited the world Chinese architect I.M. Pei to design the new Suzhou Museum. On June 6th, 2006, 10, the new Suzhou Museum was completed and officially opened to the public.
The new building covers an area of about10.07 million square meters, and the construction area exceeds10.9 million square meters. In addition, the newly renovated Zhongyi Palace in Taiping Heavenly Kingdom has a total construction area of 26,500 square meters and an investment of 339 million yuan. It is a comprehensive museum integrating modern architecture, ancient architecture and innovative landscape gardens.
