When was the Direct Selling Law officially promulgated?
August 2005. The Regulations on Direct Selling Management was promulgated by the State Council on August 10, 2005, and came into effect on February 1 2005. The Regulations on the Administration of Direct Selling is a law formulated to regulate direct selling behavior, strengthen supervision over direct selling activities, prevent fraud, and protect consumers' legitimate rights and interests and social interests.
Article 56 of Chapter VIII of the Regulations on Direct Selling Management includes general provisions, establishment and change of direct selling enterprises and their branches, recruitment and training of direct sellers, direct selling activities, deposits, supervision and management, legal responsibilities and supplementary provisions.
