How to draw with a marker

Marker pen; mark

Marker is a versatile tool. Its advantages are convenient use, fast drying and fast brushing speed. Nowadays, it has become one of the necessary tools for designers to carry out interior decoration, costume design, architectural design and stage art design.

Smooth lines, bright colors and convenient use.

The brush strokes are obvious, and the colors will be superimposed after repeated application, so it is necessary to use a pen decisively, and the surfaces and rounded corners should change with the situation.

Second, the classification of markers

According to the ink marker, it can be divided into water, oil and alcohol. Its characteristics: saturation, rapid volatilization, usually using toluene as solvent, and wide application range. It can be used on the surface of glass, plastic and other materials, and has the effects of advertising color and printing color. Because it is insoluble in water, it can also be mixed with water-based marker pen without destroying the traces of water-based marker pen.

According to the shape of the refill, marker pens can be divided into:

1. Fine-headed type (fine description and brush strokes)

2. Flat mouth type (wide flat pen, suitable for edge marking, large area coloring and writing large fonts)

3. Round head type (both ends of the pen are round, so you don't need to change the direction of the pen when writing or coloring, which is suitable for edge marking)

4. Square-pointed type (also called knife type) is suitable for coloring and writing small characters. )

Third, the drawing skills of marker

The 1. mark is usually used to outline lines and arrange colors. When typesetting, the pen tip and the paper form an oblique angle of 45.

2. Be careful not to smear it repeatedly when coloring and rendering, which is easy to produce a dirty feeling and uneven color blocks. But sometimes repeated smearing can show light and shade.

3. Use even force when arranging pens, and the overlapping parts of the two pens should be consistent as far as possible.

Grip: vertical grip and horizontal grip.

Coloring method:

1. Monochrome performance (flat coating, gradient layer).

2. The performance of variegated colors-the same color system (the same color system overlaps and the same color system gradually layers)

3. The performance of variegated colors-different colors (different colors overlap and different colors are gradually layered)

Four. Matters needing attention in using marker pen

When using auxiliary drawing tools, such as a ruler, you must use a ruler with a groove, and the groove is in contact with the paper to prevent the colored pen from blooming.

When using a pen, the nib clings to the paper and forms an angle of 45 with the paper.

Rough texture can be treated with semi-dry colored pen.

When drawing a circle or corner, the pen tip should rotate or be connected in sections along the curve direction.

Five, marker painting practice

Monochrome exercise

First, use a cold gray or warm gray marker to draw the basic light and dark tones on the screen.

In the process of carrying a pen, it is not advisable to use it too many times. After the first color dries, apply the second color accurately and quickly. Otherwise, the color will ooze out and form a turbid shape, which is not as transparent and clean as a marker.

When using markers, the strokes are mostly flat lines, and the direction and density of lines are regularly organized, which is conducive to the formation of a unified picture style.

Markers have poor coverage, and light colors cannot cover dark colors. Therefore, in the process of rendering the color on the map, it is necessary to paint the light color first and then paint the dark color. Moreover, we should pay attention to the harmony between colors, avoid using too bright colors and use neutral tones.

Simply using markers will inevitably leave some shortcomings, so it should be combined with tools such as colored lead and watercolor. Sometimes mixed with alcohol, there will be a magical effect on the picture.
