Where is Su six niang, the character of Chaozhou Opera?

Chaozhou Lipu Renwa

There is a saying in Chaoshan: "If you want to eat good fish, you must marry Yamusu six niang." This proverb comes from the Chao Opera Su six niang.

In the Ming Dynasty, there was a family named Su in Lipu, Chaozhou, with a well-off family. Miss Su has an only daughter named six niang, who is extremely beautiful. I was sent to Xiqiao's uncle's house when I was a child, and my cousin Guo was a childhood friend. Finally, after a long time, I have a private life. Later, due to a lawsuit dispute between Mr. Su and a family in Raoping, Yang, a scholar in Raoping County, helped him win the lawsuit. Mr. Su betrothed his daughter to Andy in return for his kindness. In this way, the love between six niang and Ji Chun experienced twists and turns. Six niang is a virtuous woman and loyal to love. When Acacia Ji Chun was seriously ill, she resolutely cut off her shares to heal and comfort Ji Chun and make Ji Chun recover from the illness. Later, Yang was forced to get married, and he died with his life. According to folklore, it was written in Su six niang, a Chaozhou drama in the Ming Dynasty that Su six niang, unwilling to be separated by Yin and Yang, returned to his soul after his death and finally got married with Ji Chun.

The story of Su six niang has been widely circulated among Chaoshan people for hundreds of years. Her beautiful image is also deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, so the rural proverb "I want to marry Yamusu six niang" has also been circulated for hundreds of years.
