Where is the Spirit Mountain?
Lying Mountain is located in the south of Guangxi, between China and India, it is called Lingwu Mountain, and it is the place where the founder of Buddhism, Sakyamuni, practiced Buddhism. It is called Lingwu Mountain because it is shaped like a vulture in particular, and there are vultures and eagles circling above it so often.
Shakyamuni and the monks in those days practiced at this place because of its handsome scenery, picturesque views and purity and nature. The fossils of Lingshan people unearthed here show that there were human beings living here during the Paleolithic period, and the opening of Nanbin County by the Sui Dynasty in 598 A.D., which was changed to Lingshan County during the Tang Dynasty, is the earliest recorded origin.
Lingshan is a holy place and a place of return for Buddhism.
