What does the Yue Opera Butterfly Lovers mainly embody?

The story of "Liang Zhu" has been circulated among the people for more than 1,460 years and is regarded as the eternal swan song of love. In recent years, the discussion about "Liangzhu Culture" has never stopped. The reasons are as follows: First, "Liangzhu" is rooted in the people and has been circulating for a long time. The legend of Liang Zhu has a long history, and its cultural communication forms are various. As far as folk arts and crafts are concerned, there are New Year pictures, printmaking, paper-cutting, art models, painted pottery and porcelain carvings, butterfly wing handicrafts, stone carving and wood carving, embroidered straw weaving, clay sculpture and so on. And the most abundant display of Liang Zhu culture is opera. Among the hundreds of dramas in China, almost all have Liang Zhu's dramas, especially the Yue Opera "Butterfly Lovers".

Second, it is widely spread in many parts of the world. In 1950s, Premier Zhou Enlai brought the Cantonese opera film Butterfly Lovers to Geneva for screening, which caused a sensation in western society and was called "Romeo and Juliet of the East". With the success of violin concerto "butterfly lovers", this legend has been widely circulated across the ocean.

Third, its ideological connotation is eternal and universal. Liang Zhu's stories are rich in ideological content, such as the pursuit of freedom of love, strong thirst for knowledge and endless outlook on life, which also embodies a national spirit.

Personally, I like Yue Opera very much, especially Liang Zhu.
