What to do when your ASUS computer gets stuck at the boot screen

When a laptop computer stays stuck on the ASUS/ROG logo screen after powering on, please refer to the following solutions:

1. Front-end work

●? Remove external devices such as hard drives, printers, memory cards, CD-ROMs in optical drives, and adapters in card readers

2. Perform a CMOS reset

a. Remove the transformer first.

b. Remove the battery from the laptop

※ Note: Some models may not be able to remove the battery. Some models may not be able to remove the battery, please skip this step (b). Figure C below shows the removable battery module.

c. Shut down the computer (press and hold the power button for 15 seconds until the power light turns off to perform a forced shutdown), then press and hold the power button for 40 seconds (press and hold) to perform a CMOS reset.

d. After connecting the transformer and battery (if your computer has a removable battery module), press the power button to confirm that you can enter the system normally.

3. Perform a BIOS reset

Enter the BIOS setup screen. Please turn off your laptop first. If your laptop is stuck in the logo screen, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds until the power light turns off, then press and hold the [F2] key for a few seconds, then press the power button to turn on the laptop until the BIOS setup screen appears and then you can release the [F2] key.

Advanced Mode
Advanced mode provides a more comprehensive UEFI BIOS environment that is designed specifically for overclockers and power users who want maximum control over their PC's hardware.

a. Enter the BIOS setup page

b. Perform a BIOS Setup Restore. Enter the [Save & Exit] page (1), select [Restore Defaults] (2) and then select [Yes] (3).

c. Verify that the boot drive is correct. Go to the [Boot] page(4), select [Boot Option #1](5) and verify that it is the correct [Select the hard disk used by your laptop's operating system](6).

d.? Save settings and leave. Go to the [Save & Exit] page (7), select [Save Changes and Exit] (8) and then select [Yes] (9).

●?UEFI interface (available via keyboard, touchpad, or mouse)

a. After entering the BIOS setup page, use the shortcut key [F7], or select [1] to enter the Advanced Mode.

b. Perform a BIOS restore. Go to the [Save & Exit] page (2), select [Restore Defaults] (3) and then select [Ok] (4).

c. Verify that the boot drive is correct. Go to the [Boot] page(5), select [Boot Option #1](6) and verify that it is the correct [Select the hard disk used by your laptop's operating system](7).

d.? Save settings and leave. Go to the [Save & Exit] page (8), select [Save Changes and Exit] (9) and then select [Ok] (10).
