Shanxi's world cultural heritage is Pingyao Ancient City, Yungang Grottoes and Wutai Mountain.

1, Pingyao Ancient City

Pingyao ancient city is located in the middle of Shanxi Province. It was built in Zhou Xuanwang period and expanded in the third year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1370). It has a history of more than 2700 years. It still retains the basic features of the county seat in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and is the most complete existing ancient city in the Han area of China.

2. Yungang grottoes

Yungang Grottoes is located at the south foot of Wuzhou Mountain, which is17km west of Datong City, Shanxi Province in northern China. Grottoes are dug along the mountain, stretching from east to west 1 km. There are 45 main caves, 252 caves and niches, and more than 565,438+0,000 stone carvings. It is one of the largest ancient caves in China.

3. Wutai Mountain

Wutai Mountain belongs to the northern end of Taihang Mountain System, and stretches for more than 500 miles in Xinzhou City, including Wutai County, Fan Shi, Daixian County, Yuanping City and Dingxiang County. It lies between 38 50'-39 05' north latitude and113 29'-113 44' east longitude, and consists of a series of mountains and peaks.

Qingxu Guan is the largest Taoist temple in the ancient city. According to the traditional layout of Daodong Foxi, it is located in the north of the east section of East Street. Qingxu Museum was founded in the second year of Tang Xianqing (657), formerly known as Taiping Museum, and changed to Qingxu Museum in the first year of Song Zhiping (1064).

2. Pingyao City Wall

Pingyao City Wall was built in the period of Western Zhou Xuanwang (827-782 BC), which is a rammed earth wall. In the third year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1370), the original "18 steps in nine miles" was changed to "12 miles, 8 minutes and 4 centimeters" (6.4 kilometers), and the rammed earth wall was changed to a masonry wall.
