Zhu Bingren, the father of contemporary copper architecture in China, is a master of arts and crafts.

One of the "Three Old People of the Canal" (Zheng, Luo,,) is the initiator of the application for the canal heritage. In 2005, they jointly sent an open letter to the mayors of 18 cities along the canal and opened the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.

Many of Zhu Bingren's works are collected by museums and cultural institutions at home and abroad, such as the Guo Bo, the Forbidden City, the Great Hall of the People and the Ministry of Culture. In April, 20021,Zhu Bingren attended the annual meeting of Boao Forum for Asia 20021. This is the first time that Boao invited craftsmen from China to attend the forum and give a speech.
