The erhu score has three chords with bow lines, some of which are double lines, as shown in the figure below. What does it mean to have a 3 on the line? How to pull it?
The 3 on the line represents a triplet. A triplet is to play three tones evenly in a beat (that is, the duration of each tone is one-third of a beat). If there is a ︵ (even bow symbol) on triplet 3, it is necessary to play with even bows; if there is no ︵ on triplet 3, it is necessary to use split bows (one bow for each tone).
