On the evening of August 20, the 7th China Children's Drama Festival hosted by the China Children's Art Theatre held its closing ceremony at the China Children's Theatre. Guests from the Ministry of Culture, Beijing's Dongcheng District and Huairou District, as well as the Secretary General of the International Association of Children's and Youth Theatre (IACYT), Mr. Lewis, and domestic and international representatives attending the International Children's Theatre Co-operation and Development Forum, along with more than 600 audience members, reviewed the past 45 days of the festival through video*** and watched the performance of China Children's Art Theatre's "Little Princess", witnessing the closing ceremony.

The closing ceremony of the festival was presided over by Lei Xi Ning, secretary of the Party committee of China Children's Art Theater, and Yin Xiaodong, president of the festival, made a speech, saying that the seventh China Children's Drama Festival, with the theme of "Lighting up children's hearts, shaping the future and *** building the Chinese dream," adheres to the principles of high quality, low ticket prices and public welfare, and takes children's drama exhibitions and a series of activities as its carrier. In 45 days, 27 children's theater groups from 9 countries and regions presented 48 plays and 206 performances, with an audience of nearly 160,000 people. Children's theater workers from China, Romania, Israel, Lebanon, the Czech Republic, Russia, the Netherlands, Spain, and Taiwan came together to create a colorful art festival for children. In addition to the main venue in Beijing and Jinan, Chengdu branch performances, but also into Guangdong, Liaoning, Hebei, Hubei and other provinces and cities, and into Singapore and South Korea for exchanges and performances, so that the festival has become a display of Chinese and foreign children's theater creative achievements of the stage, to promote the development of children's theater exchanges at home and abroad, the platform, the children's and young people active in the cultural life of an important festival.

The average attendance rate of the festival is more than 95%. In order to let many children who usually have no chance to watch plays enter the theater, the festival also specially invites children from children's welfare institutions and families in difficult situations to come to China Children's Arts to watch wonderful children's plays at home and abroad, sending more children the nourishment of art. In addition, the festival also realizes professional actors and school teachers and students to perform on the same stage, to help the construction of school drama.

Every year, the China Children's Drama Festival invites performing groups of different styles from different countries to perform, and innovates in the content and form of their repertoire. Children's dramas, musicals, dance dramas, puppet shows and other art varieties, through a variety of art forms and rich means of expression, let the children in different performances to appreciate the charm of a variety of stage art, feel the culture and national characteristics of different countries.

This year's Children's Theatre Festival has also seen a new expansion in the cultivation of children's theatre education talent.

The 2017 Children's Theatre Education Masterclass, an international exchange program for professional and management talent in the arts, was held on August 11-17 at the Central Cultural Cadre Management Center in Beijing. "2017 Master Class on Children's Drama Education", an international exchange program for art professionals and management talents, was officially opened at the Central Academy of Cultural Cadres and Management. The "Master Class" invited the artistic director, education director and professional teachers of Charlotte Children's Theatre of the United States to teach nearly 60 students. Through classroom teaching, drama workshops, play observation and exchange seminars, colleagues in the field of children's theater analyzed classic cases, discussed the experience of children's theater creation and promotion, and shared the concept of "fantasy theater, creative education".

In addition to the "Children's Theater Master Class", the festival also held the "2017 International Children's Theater Cooperation and Development Forum", which was attended by more than 60 children's theater experts from 12 countries and regions, including the U.S., Russia, Denmark, and Taiwan.
