What does Sanshui mean?

"Sanshui" is the name of an administrative district located in the central part of Guangdong Province, namely Sanshui District of Foshan City. It is named after three rivers, Shunde Water, Nanhai Water and Gaoming Water. Sanshui District is located in the hinterland of the Pearl River Delta, with a complex topography, mountains and rivers, a mild and humid climate, and fertile land rich in resources.

Sanshui District has a long history, as early as three thousand years ago in the Neolithic Age, there were human beings thriving here. It successively belonged to the rule of the Eastern Han, Tang and Ming dynasties, under whose governance a prosperous and affluent old city of Foshan and a representative traditional culture were gradually formed. Now Sanshui has many beautiful and unique landscapes and cultural monuments, such as Confucius Temple, Bell Tower, Shadi Water Town, Earth Island, Lychee Bay Village and so on.

Today in the 21st century, Sanshui is pursuing the strategy of "rich, beautiful and high", accelerating the transformation and upgrading, and striving for the comprehensive development of economic growth, environmental optimization and industrial agglomeration.
