Hua tuo wuqinxi is a set of guiding techniques compiled by Hua Tuo, a famous doctor in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, according to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, imitating the movements and demeanor of five animals, such as tigers, deer, bears, apes and birds. "Poultry" refers to animals, which generally refers to animals in ancient times; Ancient "drama" refers to singing, dancing, acrobatics and other activities, here refers to special sports methods.
20 1 1 On May 23rd, hua tuo wuqinxi was approved by the State Council to be included in the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
The origin of this method can be traced back to the pre-Qin period. For example, in Zhuangzi, it is said that "the bear extends the bird's longevity", so it can be seen that there were a variety of guiding pictures and texts imitating the animal's form and spirit at that time, which belonged to the original technique of "Five Birds Play". Hua Tuo, a famous doctor in the Three Kingdoms period at the end of the Han Dynasty, sorted out and summarized the "Five Birds Play" and promoted it as a set of martial arts, but the original words about "hua tuo wuqinxi" were recorded in the history books such as The History of the Three Kingdoms and the Book of the Later Han Dynasty. The earliest document that can be seen to record the specific practice methods of "Wuqinxi" is the Book of Yangshengtang compiled by Tao Hongjing in the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Later generations of doctors and health care physicians have created hundreds of routines of "Five-Animal Play" because of the variation of their teachers' inheritance or the continuous development and changes according to the basic principles of "Five-Animal Play". Although the focus of different exercises is different, the basic spirit is similar.
Wuqinxi is one of the most popular and longest-lasting fitness methods in China. It consists of five actions that imitate animals. Wuqinxi is also called Wuqinxi, Wuqinxi Qigong and Baibu Sweating Drama. It is said that Hua Tuo's apprentice, Upp, exercised according to law and lived to be over 90 years old, without hearing, eyes and teeth, reaching 100 years old.
Modern medical research has also proved that Wuqinxi, as a medical gymnastics, can not only stretch the muscles and joints of human body, but also improve the functions of lungs and heart, improve the oxygen supply of myocardium, increase the blood output of myocardium and promote the normal development of tissues and organs. Wuqinxi, as the earliest and complete bionic medical fitness gymnastics in China, is also one of the sports valued by the courts in past dynasties.
1982 On June 28th, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and the then State Sports Commission of China issued a notice, regarding traditional China fitness methods such as Wuqinxi as one of the contents of "Healthy physical education class" promoted in medical colleges. In 2003, China's State Sports General Administration promoted the five-animal play and other fitness methods as the content of "Fitness Qigong" to the whole country.
