Calligraphy is an undergraduate major in Chinese universities. Its research object is the creative practice and theoretical research of calligraphy seal cutting. ?

This major aims at cultivating high-quality applied talents with scientific and cultural literacy and artistic theory foundation, nourishing Chinese traditional culture and excellent frontier innovation ability, systematically mastering the basic laws and methods of calligraphy education and calligraphy creation, and being competent for the comprehensive application of calligraphy teaching, calligraphy creation, calligraphy theory research and calligraphy art.

Calligraphy mainly studies the basic knowledge and skills of ancient Chinese characters, calligraphy history, modern calligraphy and calligraphy art, and carries out calligraphy creation, calligraphy copying, calligraphy appraisal, tablet appreciation, calligraphy teaching, and publication of books and periodicals. For example, Wang Xizhi, Ouyang Xiu and other famous calligraphers copy and identify their works, write inscriptions and couplets, design artistic signatures, proofread and edit books and periodicals.
