What are the types of Lingnan residential buildings?

Lingnan architecture is mainly divided into Guangfu architecture, Chaoshan architecture and Hakka architecture.

1. Guangfu dwellings are mainly distributed in the Greater Pearl River Delta, and the early Guangfu dwellings were obviously influenced by the architectural pattern in the south of the Yangtze River. Its representative is the bell house, which is made of blue bricks, stone pillars and slates, and the outer walls are decorated with flowers and birds. Because its mountain shape is like a bell, it is called "Bell House".

2. The basic layout of Chaoshan folk houses is the traditional three-way courtyard and quadrangle, and the most basic form is called "Shang Lu Gen" and "four cents". Small-sized residential buildings in cities and towns have a long and narrow "bamboo pole" layout. Large-scale residential buildings expand horizontally or vertically on the basis of four cents, which are called "three halls series", "eight halls opposite", "four-horse trailer" and "Baifeng Chaoyang", and their external contours remain very regular squares or rectangles.

3. The representative of Hakka architecture is the Hakka dragon. Historically, the cultural and psychological qualities of Hakkas are reflected in two aspects. First, the improvement of ancestral temple facilities and the continuous compilation of genealogy. In villages where people live together, all ethnic groups attach importance to the construction of ancestral temples.

Lingnan culture is produced by the collision between Chinese culture and Baiyue culture, and its core retains the local temperament and style handed down from Baiyue period. These styles mainly stay in the decoration and details of Lingnan architecture, which embodies the regional culture of Lingnan. ?

After Qin and Han Dynasties, Lingnan and China were unified, and Lingqu and Yuling were built. The communication between Lingnan and the Central Plains is increasingly close. First, the army was demoted and there were a large number of immigrants in several wars. The powerful and advanced Chinese civilization in the Central Plains swept across the Pearl River like the "Han Dynasty and Su Hai", and then constituted the main body of Lingnan culture. The Lingnan culture with written records just started in the Qin Dynasty. In this sense, Lingnan culture is basically an immigrant culture.
