There are two versions of the origin of the word "steamed dumplings":
1. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, two brothers made a living by selling steamed buns near Jokhang Temple in Da 'nan Street, Guihuacheng, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. Later, my brother married his wife. After separation, the steamed stuffed bun shop was owned by my brother and sister-in-law, and my brother worked in the shop. My brother has no income except for eating. In order to increase income and marry in the future, my brother made some thin-skinned "steamed buns" for sale. Many people like this thin-skinned "steamed bread", named "Daimai". Later, the name evolved and spread to the south and changed to steamed dumplings.
2. Steamed dumplings originated from steamed buns. The main difference between it and steamed stuffed bun is that it uses unfermented noodles as the skin, and the top is not sealed, showing pomegranate shape.
Steamed dumplings, also known as steamed dumplings, Xiaomi, steamed dumplings, Shaomei, Roasted Plum and Ghost Pengtou, are called _ _ in Japan to describe the shape of a fluffy bundle with the top folded like a flower, and are a snack steamed in a cage with instant noodles as the skin. It is shaped like pomegranate, white and crystal clear, with thin stuffing, fragrant and delicious, and has the advantages of steamed stuffed bun and fried dumpling. It is often used as a banquet dish.
