What are the customs of Wenshan people in Yunnan?
There are 11 hereditary ethnic groups in Wenshan Prefecture, and in the long-term historical development, each ethnic group has formed their own unique festival culture and customs.
1. Yi Flower Face Festival
Location: Puzhehei, Qubei, Yunnan
Activities: The Qubei Ethnic Minority Flower Face Festival will be held on May 2 in the Puzhehei Tourist Area of Qubei County.
The festival will include a carnival of face-painting, ritual performances by Bhima, ancient songs and dances of the Yi ethnic group, face-painting and traditional sports competitions of the ethnic minorities, such as kicking, gourd-sheng performances, gyro-playing, fishing, dragon boat races, and animal fights, among other activities. At that time, people dip their hands in pot smoke and watercolor, smear each other's faces, sing and dance, and wish for peace. 2, Jumping Palace Festival (the eighth day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar or the sixth month of the lunar calendar)
Jumping Palace Festival is a grand national ceremonies to remember the ancestors, offerings of gold bamboo traditional festivals.
