Take the Affiliated High School of South China Normal University as an example: The Affiliated High School of South China Normal University is one of the first batch of national demonstration high schools in Guangdong Province, which is under the dual leadership of Guangdong Provincial Department of Education and South China Normal University.

In 1952, it was formed by the merger of the Affiliated Middle School of Sun Yat-sen University, the Affiliated Middle School of Guangdong Provincial College of Arts and Sciences, the Affiliated Middle School of Lingnan University, and the Affiliated Middle School of South China United University; its predecessor can be traced back to Guangzhou Gezhi College, which was established in 1888;

In 1983, it was changed from the Affiliated Middle School of South China Normal College to the Affiliated Middle School of South China Normal University; and it was designated as a key middle school of Guangdong Province in 1978. The school has been awarded the honor of National Model High School and Guangdong Traditional Sports Project School.
