Guangdong lion belongs to the Southern Lion in China Lion Dance. Guangdong lions have a long history and appeared as early as the Tang Dynasty. The ancestors of Guangdong people, Nanyue people, brought them to Lingnan during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period.
