Topography of Asia and Europe

Topographic map of Asia:

The general characteristics of Asia's topography are high terrain, large surface fluctuation, high in the middle and low around, alternating with uplift and depression, and a row of longitudinal arc island arcs in the east. With an average elevation of about 950 meters, Asia is the highest continent except Antarctica. Mountains, plateaus and hills account for about 3/4 of the total area, of which 1/3 is above 1 1,000m. The plain accounts for 1/4 of the total area, about100000 square kilometers. The whole continent is centered on the Pamirs, and a series of tall mountains radiate to the continental margin.

Topographic map of Europe:

The average height of Europe is 340 meters, and the terrain is mainly plain. A series of mountains stand in the south, collectively known as the Alps, of which Mont Blanc is 4807 meters above sea level, belonging to France and becoming the highest peak in Western Europe. Europe has a dense river network and abundant water. The longest river is the Volga River, with a total length of 3,690 kilometers, and the second largest river is the Danube River, with a total length of 2,850 kilometers, which is the largest river in the world. The coastline of Europe is very tortuous, with many peninsulas, islands, bays and inland seas. Scandinavia in northern Europe is the largest peninsula in Europe. Europe is the only continent with a permanent population without tropical climate, and the area occupied by cold climate is not large, so the climate is mild and the precipitation distribution is relatively uniform.
